Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the emotion “happy” as induced by colors on the addition performance of grade 1 pupils. The experiment involved the pupils in the experimental group (n=80) were taught addition, using modules developed by the researcher which utilized seductive augmentation of learning materials through colors, the pupils in the control group (n=70) were taught addition using the method in the current math education program which do not utilize emotion-based teaching aids. The study was implemented for 1 week. Pretest and post-test developed by the researcher based on the math competencies for grade 1 of the Department of Education (DepEd) were administered to the pupils before and after the study and data obtained were statistically analyzed. The study found that Gold, Yellow, Rose, Red and Green were respectively the top five colors that induced happy emotion. Although significant statistical difference was registered between the pre-test and po.....

Abstract
A curriculum does not exist in a void; internal members play a key role in responding to the different forces that continually shape it. One of the approaches to evaluation is through internal evaluation from the perspective of the inside members who work with the curriculum. However, the internal evaluation may pose restricted evaluation due to the innate subjective human judgment. Considering these contexts, this paper performed a pilot internal evaluation of a selected aspect of a higher education curriculum using a triangulation mixed method design called the data transformation model. Based on the results, the evaluation using the data transformation model probed important points of agreement and discrepancy in the data sets. The implications for evaluation theory and curriculum practice are discussed. It is suggested that an extension of the current formative internal evaluation continuing the tradition of data transformative model but progressively focusing on larger aspects of .....

Abstract
Teachers have an important role to play in delivering quality education (SDG4). The quality of teaching that they deliver to students greatly affects them. This participatory action research (PAR) argues that there are gaps that need to be addressed in teaching effectiveness; (a) developing conceptual framework anchoring in common theory that served as a lens of the study, (b) measure it to ensure that students receive quality education and acquire the skills they need for national development, and (c) develop an assessment tool. This research designed a conceptual framework on teaching effectiveness based on the results of the focus group discussions with key informants (bottom-up evaluation) in selected mid-level administrators (coordinators), teachers, students, and alumni from selected sectarian higher education institutions. The researchers also developed indicators and identified items to assess teacher effectiveness through an assessment tool. Teaching effectiveness argues that .....

Abstract
Bridelia ferruginea (Benth., Euphorbiaceae), prominently found in Savannah regions, is commonly used as an ethnomedicine for the treatment of several ailments in many parts of Africa. Piliostigma thonningii (Schum., Fabaceae) is used for various medicinal purposes in African countries with some pharmacological activities established from the crude extracts including antibacterial, antihelminthic, antiinflammatory and antilipidemic activities. In the present study, crude methanolic extract and fractions of B. ferruginea and P. thonningii were examined for their phytochemical constituents and antioxidant activity using standard protocols. Qualitative phytochemical screening of B. ferruginea crude extract revealed the presence of tannins, saponins, phlobatanins, flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids, glycosides, phenols and resins while it tested negative for triterpenoids, carbohydrates, terpenoids and anthraquinones; the quantitative phytochemical analysis showed that it contained 1.5% saponi.....

Abstract
This research attempted to investigate the effects of songs in teaching vocabulary in a Year One  class in Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Lampam, Teluk Intan. This study was a comparative group study  consisting of a control group and a treatment group. The study was conducted for a period of eight  weeks and at regular class time by the researcher. The subjects for this research were forty Year  One students divided into two groups: twenty in the control group and twenty in the treatment  group. The control group was taught using the traditional methods, while the treatment group was  taught using selected songs in addition to the traditional method. The treatment group achieved  higher averages than the control group on the post-test. The average scores of the treatment group  were lower than those of the control group on the pre-test. The control group improved its overall  average score from 76.30 for the pre-test to 78.45 for the post-test, while the treatment group's.....

Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine essential oil composition, phytochemicals, and to evaluate bioactivities of Boesenbergia albosanguinea (Zingiberaceae) rhizomes. The essential oil was extracted using hydrodistillation and its chemical composition was determined via gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The rhizome was extracted using Soxhlet extraction (n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol). Phytochemicals of each extract were isolated by chromatographic techniques and their structures were confirmed using spectroscopic analysis and comparison with literature. The antioxidant activity was determined using the 2,2- diphenylpicrylhydrazil (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay, and the antiinflammatory activity was evaluated using the lipoxygenase inhibition assay. The study indicates that the essential oil of B. albosanguinea comprised elemicin (44.0%), _- gurjunene (9.3%), _-caryophyllene (4.5%), and safrole (4.1%). Isolation and purification of.....

Abstract
Information and communication technology (ICT) in education, also known as education technology, is an important component of SDG 4's goal of improving educational quality. This Bibliometric study examines research patterns over time using the term "education technology." Three research questions are prioritised: (1) What is the current publication trend in EduTech? (2) What are the most popular themes among EduTech scholars? (3) What is the current citation pattern of EduTech publications? The methodology of this study uses bibliometric analysis with quantitative approach (document trend statistics) in the data scopus.com database for the years 1946 to 2022. The study's findings showed the number of publications on this education technology has increased since 2005, and this trend is expected to continue, with a recent notable theme being a focus on methodology studies, particularly in the field of health education. Furthermore, the most cited document was an article about activity de.....

Abstract
The immune system is essential for the defense against infections and is critically implicated in various disorders, including immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, inflammation and cancer. The current study includes a new design of palmitoylated derivatives of thioglycolic acids (PTGAs) capable of triggering innate immune responses. The new series were accessible through a three-step synthetic route, including N-palmitoylation, Claisen–Schmidt condensation and thia-Michael addition. Their structures were elucidated using different 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques and their purity was confirmed by elemental analysis. The most active PTGAs induced a 12–26-fold increase in the expression of TNF-α and IL-1β mRNA and triggered a marked release of NO in isolated macrophages. These levels were comparable to the responses elicited by heat-killed E. coli and S. aureus. The position of the palmitamide chain and aryl substitution had a significant effect on the TNF-α and IL-1β mRNA expre.....
