Abstract

This research discusses the prominence, leadership and contributions of Tan Sri Senu Abdul Rahman as a politician. This research opens with the background and memoirs of Senu as a student at SITC and explains in detail how he used his writing and the media in his struggles up until the time he became involved in politics. The researcher attempts to relate his meritorious efforts and contributions through language education which he received, especially during his time studying at SITC. The Malay language education which Senu received played an important role in expanding his thoughts on nationality and his achievements in his political career. His awareness of the importance of the English language heightened his enthusiasm to become an exemplary figure as a national leader, and in the end his name was placed on the list of the country’s nationalists. Persepsi pelajar Kelantan: suatu kajian vitaliti Etnolinguistik

Abstract

Kajian ini mengkaji perlakuan bahasa pelajar-pelajar Kelantan Universiti Malaya yang berpindah ke persekitaran bam di mana bahasa yang dominan adalah bahasa Melayu dan bukan dialek Kelantan. Persoalan yang ingin dikupaskan ialah samada persepsi vitaliti pelajar-pelajar ini mempengaruhi perlakuan bahasa mereka. Data persepsi vitaliti ini dikurnpul melalui soal selidik yang mengandungi tiga bahagian: Bahagian I - maklumat peribadi subjek, Bahagian II - penggunaan dialek Kelantan, Bahagian III - soal selidik vitaliti subjektif (Subjective Vitality Questionaire). Dapatan daripada bahagian kedua soal-selidik ini menunjukkan bahawa ke semua subjek kajian ini menganggap diri mereka sebagai ahli kumpulan Kelantan dan bangga dengan dialek mereka. Mereka melihat dialek mereka sebagai satu aspek fundamental budaya setempat dan simbol keanggotaan mereka sebagai ahli kurnpulan tersebut serta kesetiaan mereka terhadap dialek mereka. Abstract

Recently, Professional Learning Community (PLC) has become an important discussion topic in the field of education. Thus, many educational institutions, especially schools, have sought to implement the practice of PLC with the hope of improving student learning. This hope is to be achieved through teaching and learning activities which are carried out collaboratively among school communities, especially teachers. In fact, they must respond to the activities undertaken to ensure there is improvement in student learning and achievement. Moreover, to ensure that schools practice PLC, the researchers have listed five main characteristics of PLC, namely: shared values and visions, collaborative culture, focus on outcomes to improve student learning, leadership support and shared personal practice. Keberkesanan strategi pengajaran pdeode terhadap kefahaman pelajar tentang konsep kondensasi

Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk menilai keberkesanan strategi pengajaran PDEODE terhadap kefahaman pelajar tentang konsep kondensasi. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah eksperimen kuasi, yang melibatkan sampel seramai 62 orang pelajar tingkatan empat aliran sains. Data diperoleh daripada ujian pra, ujian pasca, temubual berstruktur dan soal selidik. Ujian-t sampel bebas dan ujian-t sampel berpasangan digunakan bagi membandingkan pencapaian pelajar dalam kedua-dua kumpulan kawalan dan eksperimen. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan min yang singnifikan di antara kedua-dua kumpulan. Basil kajian turut menunjukkan konsep altematif pelajar tentang kondensasi dapat dikelompokkan kepada enam sub-tema iaitu proses perubahan fizikal, resapan keluar, penyejatan, pemejalwapan, perubahan keadaan jirim dan tindakbalas kimia. Achieving a strong customer-brand relationship is indeed a winning differentiating strategy for companies to survive in today's highly competitive marketplace. However, due to limited studies and narrow approach, the existing literature has not yet provided sufficient explanation on the contributing factors in the establishment of a strong customer-brand relationship. Recognizing the critical role of relationship investment and customer engagement, this research aims to investigate the influence of customer and brand investments on customer engagement. Specifically, this research extends the Resource Investment model by Morais et al. Differences in the consumer literacy of the nutrition label across demographic factors

Abstract

The worsening obesity problem in Malaysia has urged various efforts from various parties to address them. The effective use of the nutrition labels is widely accepted and used as one of the efficient measures to address obesity. However, previous studies on the literacy of the nutrition label, especially among Malaysian consumers are still limited. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the differences in consumers’ literacy of the nutrition label by demographic factors, such as gender, age, education level, income level and ethnicity. This study adopted survey technique and employed a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 200 respondents, which were selected using random cluster sampling. Data collected were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Ethical attitudes of accounting and business students : Malaysian evidence

Abstract

Ethical crises in business have gained more attention from public and have led many to question the effectiveness of ethics education in university. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the ethical attitudes of accounting and business students, their willingness to become whistleblowers, and the impact of ethics education on students’ ethical attitude. A total of 275 usable questionnaires that consists of four ethical scenarios were analysed. The findings of the study show that a small percentage of accounting and business students are willing to involve in unethical behaviour. About 10.9% of students were categorized as unethical as they would cheat in an examination and that only 1% of the students would accept bribes to defraud the tax office. Once an element of risk of being caught was introduced, the percentage of students willing to cheat in an examination and those willing to defraud the tax office decrease to 4.8% and 0.7% respectively. This study aims to identify the limitations of relationship investment research in relationship marketing domain. Based upon 53 relevant journal articles, the results of content analysis reveal limited studies on the integrated effect of customer and partner investments and the effect of relationship investment’s dimensions, particularly in customer-brand relationship domain.
