Character values of elementary school education from the perspective of local wisdom of sundanese culture
Mohd Razimi Husin
Global culture is currently still growing and developing massively in countries all over the world. It allegedly causes more harm to develop countries, including Indonesia. It is feared that Indonesia will increasingly lose its national identity, which should be maintained. To date, some Indonesians think that values from foreign countries are the best, while local cultural values are outdated. This research aimed to assess the Sundanese cultural values as part of Indonesian culture to be used as a reference for developing indicators of achieving character education goals, especially for elementary school students. The method used was an exploratory method with an ethnographic approach. The stages of research were: 1) observing the socio-cultural activities of Naga Village community related to the cultivation of family educational values; 2) creating descriptive narratives in the context of cultivating parental educational values for their children in Naga Village community; and 3) ana.....

A case study: resistance training effect on muscle mass and body fat percentage among youth football players during fasting month
Nor Fazila Abd Malek
Fasting months will affect the nutritional intake of football players. They will start fasting from sunrise until sunset and do not even consume water. However, the training session still needs to be conducted to prepare the players for the league. Maintaining their strength and muscle mass still becomes an essential and crucial factor. In that sense, this study was conducted to investigate the effect of a fasting month on resistance training outcomes, specifically on the player's muscle mass and body fat percentage. Twenty-eight youth football players were purposively selected for this study, and they were randomly divided into the control group (CG) (n=14) and the resistance training group (RT) (n=14). Both groups underwent the same cycle of fasting time, including early morning meals, after-sunset dinners, and regular football training sessions. The CG group did not engage in any resistance training program for the study, whereas the RT group completed 65% of 1RM for bench press, pl.....

A body-scaling approach to modifying sports equipment for children: a badminton-based experimental study
Jeffrey Low Fook
A body-scaling approach, namely pi ratios, has been developed to provide systematic guidelines for manipulating junior sports. This approach is used to reduce the constraints in junior sports as efficiently as possible, facilitating children to learn the skills quickly. Therefore, the study aimed to examine the best racquet size by demonstrating a body-scaling approach to modify racquets using arm length-to-racquet length ratios. A total of twelve boys with one to two years of badminton experience participated in the study. The arm length of participants was measured to create arm length-to-racquet length ratios. Participants executed badminton skill tests (e.g., short serve, clear, and drop) using three types of racquets which were racquets A (1.1:1.0), B (1.0:1.0), and C (0.9:1.0). One-way ANOVA with repeated measures was conducted to compare the scores in all badminton skills tests across the three types of racquets. The findings of this study showed that participants performed best.....

A time truncated new group chain sampling plan based on log-logistic distribution
Shazlyn Milleana Shaharudin
The acceptance sampling is a technique for ensuring that both producers and consumers are satisfied with the product's quality. This paper proposes a new group chain sampling plan (NGChSP) using Log-logistic distribution when the life test is truncated at a predetermined time. The minimum number of groups, g and the probability of lot acceptance, L(p) are determined through satisfying the consumer's risk, ? under the specified design parameter. This paper shows that the minimum number of groups, g decreases when the value of design parameters such as ?, a, i and r increases. With the same design parameters, the minimum g increases when the shape parameter increases. Moreover, the L(p) increases as shape parameter and minimum g increases. An illustrative example for NGChSP is provided. The findings suggest that as the test time termination constant decreases, the minimum g increases. Furthermore, as the mean ratio, 0 increases, the L(p) increases as well. In 1 comparison to GChSP, the N.....

Learning mathematics using an ethnomathematics approach: a systematic literature review
Riyan Hidayat
The study of ethnomathematics has grown significantly over the decades, especially for teaching academic mathematics in schools. However, only a small number of studies comprehensively examine research trends in the use of ethnomathematics for mathematics learning. Thus, research trends for the years 2018 to 2022 were thoroughly analyzed through systematic literature reviews referring to the standards of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). This review found 24 journal articles from the top indexing databases called Scopus and Eric. The finding of the SLR indicate that two types of ethnomathematics research are found if categorized based on the research data source. The cultural forms used in ethnomathematics research into three categories: ideas, activities, and artifacts. Indonesian researchers (n=19) dominated the collected studies as systematic review only included publications published in English. The categorization of the studies are ethnom.....
