ESL teachers TPACK domains in an online digital tools and flipped classroom course

This study explored the TPACK domains of English language teachers in an online course  about  digital  tools  and  flipped  classroom.  The  study  aimed  to  analyse  the TPACK   domains  that  appeared  in  teachers’  interaction  with  the  online  learning artefacts.   Seeking  to  address  gaps  in  the  research,  this  qualitative  study  utilised phenomenology  methodology to explore in-depth the teachers’ TPACK development phenomenon. The instruments used  for the purpose were online discussion post, online quiz,  activity  plan,  digital  learning   products,  reflective  journals,  lesson  plans,  video recorded lesson and semi-structured  interview. This study selected 2 in-service English language teachers through purposive sampling.  The results showed that the emergence of TPACK domains among teachers could be classified in the  form of 4 main categories such   as   Resided   Knowledge,   Added   .....

The use of storytelling methods by teachers and their effects on childrens understanding and attention span

This research was carried out to determine the effect of different storytelling methods on children's understanding and attention span of pre-school education period. The research is a quantitative study that took place in two stages. In the first stage, with the descriptive screening model, it was determined which of the different storytelling methods used by a total of 72 preschool teachers during the education period. In the second stage, the effectiveness of the four different storytelling methods that teachers stated most was examined by using comparative non-synchronized post-test design. The experimental stage was carried out with 40 children, whose ages ranging from five to six, receiving pre-school education.  In the research, each of the four separate stories was presented with four different storytelling methods. Teacher leadership in the context of early childhood education:concepts, characteristics and enactment

Recent studies have indicated that early childhood education (ECE) teachers’ responsibilities have expanded to include leadership functions. In school contexts the phenomenon is called teacher leadership and the same concept has recently been adopted in ECE research literature. Additionally, there are other concepts and perspectives connected to leadership performed by ECE teachers. This literature review aimed to explore the conceptualization, characteristics, and enactment of leadership performed by ECE teachers. Leadership that ECE teachers perform in their work is characterized as a multidimensional and contextual phenomenon, and as intentional influencing, which is based on collaboration and distribution.  The focus is on pedagogical leadership, although teacher leadership is a broader concept, which can also include administrative tasks. Mentor-Mentee Programme for STEM Education at preschool level

The objectives of this research were to; (i) determine mentors? perspectives on their communication skills, teamwork skills, problem solving skills and social responsibility after joining the Mentor-Mentee Programme for STEM Education; (ii) identify the differences between the assessment of STEM mentors? perspective on their personal qualities before and after joining the program; and (iii) identify the problems or challenges that the mentors experienced in mentoring activities compared to classroom teaching, opinions before and after participating in the program, and the challenges faced in the program. Based on the objectives, a survey research was conducted to collect data from 53 students (mentors) in the targeted population through questionnaire.  Paired sample t-test was conducted to compare various skills of mentors before and after joining the program. Kajian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  membangunkan  dan  mengkaji  kesan  koswer  augmented reality dalam memahami bahasa isyarat Malaysia. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan reka bentuk kajian  eksperimental ujian pasca digunakan dalam kajian ini. Pemilihan sampel kajian  dijalankan  dalam   kalangan  orang  awam  menggunakan  kaedah  persampelan rawak  mudah  yang  melibatkan  60  orang   iaitu  individu  yang  tidak  mempunyai  asas kemahiran  dalam  bahasa  isyarat  Malaysia.  Bagi   kajian  ini,  responden  yang  dipilih dibahagikan  kepada  dua  kumpulan  iaitu  kumpulan  rawatan   30  orang  menggunakan koswer  augmented  reality  dan  kumpulan  kawalan  30  orang  menggunakan   kaedah pembelajaran konvensional. Managing teaching approach in early childhood care education towards skill development in Nigeria

This study embarked on managing teaching approach in early childhood care education towards skill development in Nigeria. This study determined the relationship between learner-centered approach, active learning, higher-order thinking and skill development of early childhood care education learners in Northcentral zone, Nigeria. Quantitative research designed was used for this study. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 338 head teachers and 361 teachers making a total number of 699 participants in public primary school with early childhood care education centre. Data was collected using Managing Teaching Approach in Early Childhood Care Education and Skill Development Questionnaire (MTAECCESDQ). Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis were used to analyze the data collected. Kursus Asuhan Permata: implikasi terhadap kualiti amalan pengasuhan kanak-kanak

Kualiti perkhidmatan Taman Asuhan Kanak-kanak (TASKA) bergantung kepada kualiti pengasuh. Oleh itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti perbezaan kualiti amalan pengasuhan antara pengasuh TASKA yang memiliki dan tidak memiliki Sijil Kursus Asuhan PERMATA (KAP). Kajian kes ini melibatkan empat orang pengasuh daripada empat buah TASKA swasta yang dipilih secara persampelan bertujuan. Data diperoleh melalui temu bual semi struktur dan pemerhatian bukan struktur menggunakan catatan nota lapangan.  Hasil analisis tematik mendapati kedua-dua orang pengasuh yang memiliki Sijil KAP dengan pengalaman lebih tiga tahun dan kurang tiga tahun menunjukkan amalan pengasuhan yang lebih baik dalam penjagaan dan pengurusan keperluan asas kanak-kanak dan pelaksanaan aktiviti bersama kanak-kanak berbanding dua orang pengasuh yang tidak memiliki Sijil KAP dengan pengalaman lebih tiga tahun dan kurang tiga tahun. Exploring kindergarten teachers perspectives in parental involvement in the Philippines

In this descriptive qualitative study, parental involvement is the partaking of families on the learning and holistic development of children at home and in school on teachers lens and a part of a larger study. Teachers? perspective is imperative in developing a school-facilitated parental involvement framework in the Philippine context. The researcher used document analysis and interview to gather data. Data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis. Results revealed four themes; (i) meaningful home-school communication; (ii) collective in-school engagement; (iii) structural at-home learning support; and (iv) refining teachers? capacity.  These results can be used as an input in developing a school-facilitated parenting involvement framework that encompass the contribution of teachers in planning, developing, and evaluating parental involvement programs which future researchers can also use in their studies. Pelaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran hadis dalam Pendidikan Islam di sekolah menengah negeri Perak

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti pelaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran hadis dalam  Pendidikan  Islam  sekolah  menengah  di  negeri  Perak.  Kajian  ini  menggunakan kaedah  tinjauan. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 269 orang guru dan 827 orang murid yang telah dipilih  secara rawak bersrata daripada 806 orang guru Pendidikan Islam tingkatan 4 dan 9975 orang murid  Islam tingkatan empat sekolah menengah harian di negeri Perak. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan  ialah set soal selidik untuk guru dan murid yang telah disahkan oleh tujuh orang pakar.  Kebolehpercayaan instrumen soal selidik adalah tinggi berdasarkan pekali Alpha Cronbach bagi soal  selidik guru (>0.843) dan soal selidik murid (>0.807).    Data  dianalisis  menggunakan  statistik   deskriptif  kekerapan,  peratusan  min, sisihan piawai dan inferens ujian –t, ANOVA dan kolerasi.  Statistik deskriptif untuk aspek pelaksanaan  dan  penilaian  pengajaran.  Statistik inferensiÂ.....

The present study aimed to investigate the teaching of pragmatics by Iraqi EFL teachers in Iraqi English language classrooms in an academic setting at Ministry of Education, Anbar General  Directorate for Education, secondary schools in Ramadi city, in the Republic of Iraq.
