This paper investigates the determinants of house prices. The Klang Valley, Malaysia is chosen as the case study in this paper. Hedonic house price modelling is employed to determine the effects of the structural and location attributes on the prices of the house. Selling prices, structural and location attributes were collected from the database of Department of Valuation and Services of Malaysia, selected maps and reports. Fifty-five factors that are likely to influence a house price were identified and used to determine the overall effects of the structural and location attributes on house prices. However, only significant variables were included in the final model and these were identified by using correlation analysis and modified step-wise procedures. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk meneroka sejauh mana penyertaan politik belia di Malaysia. Secara khususnya, artikel ini akan menjawab soalan-soalan berikut: Apakah jenis penglibatan politik yang kerap disertai oleh belia di Malaysia? Bagaimanakah tahap penglibatan politik golongan ini? Adakah jantina, tahap pendidikan dan kawasan tempat tinggal mempunyai kaitan dengan penglibatan politik? Apakah faktor yang mempengaruhi mereka untuk melibatkan diri dalam politik? Seramai 417 responden yang berumur di antara 18-40 tahun dipilih secara rawak untuk menjawab borang soal selidik yang diedarkan. Secara umumnya, kajian ini mendapati bahawa responden mempunyai tahap penglibatan politik yang sederhana. Majoriti responden menyatakan mereka mengundi dalam setiap pilihan raya umum yang diadakan dan hanya segelintir daripada mereka yang menghubungi pemimpin politik. The state of Selangor is the most developed state in Malaysia, as such the capability of its water supply system is always on the heel in trying to meet the ever growing demand. The government of the state prior to the 2008 General Election had embarked on an interbasin water transfer project with the aim of boosting the availability of raw water for treatment and subsequently to supply the state with a projected future demand curve. A change in government in 2008 saw a change in emphasis with regard to the water supply system. The present state government is of the view that the interstate water transfer project ought to carry out concurrently with the restructuring of the water supply system of the state. Other parties such as the concessionaires are on an opposite view. The surface pressure-mean molecular area (П-A) isotherm of surfactant (Mat 7) was obtained by using Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The characterization of Mat 7 Langmuir film was carried out in terms of П-A isotherm. The Langmuir monolayer was successfully formed by spreading the Mat 7 solution directly at air-water interface. The optimum condition such as the volume of surfactant loaded on the subphase was studied. It is observed that with increasing amount of Mat 7 on water surface, П-A isotherm shifted towards the left. The mean surface area occupied by each Mat 7 molecule was estimated by extrapolating the linear portion of each curve (between 10 and 20 mN/m) to a surface pressure equal to zero. In the teaching and learning of Malay language in schools, writing essays is an important component. In this study, six samples of good essays have been selected for analysis. Samples consist of students in Form 2 from a school Malaysia. Hermeneutics Pedagogical method is used to analyze student essays to identify styles of cognition and affection involved in essay writings. The results of hermeneutics pedagogy method give interpretations through style interpretation of cognition and affection experienced by students in the subconscious and conscious mind during essay writing. Results show that the students will be able to extract information and past experiences of long-term memory and short term memory assisted through the style of cognition and affection. River sand is a resource that generates income and Malaysia is abundantly endowed with it. The state of Selangor, Malaysia has many rivers and sand exploitation sites are mostly found in these rivers. An important aspect which is given great attention is the potential of the contribution to the state coffer that can be garnered from it. As Malaysia develops, the growth of the building and construction industry expand, and demand for river sand as a construction material increases. In most drainage systems in Malaysia, this resource is ubiquitous. Due to its abundance and easily-exploitable nature, this resource is often unscrupulously exploited in a way which is not to the benefit of the state government as well as to the people in general. This paper will present part of a larger study on the development and implementation of a Thinking-based Learning (TBL) instructional manual for secondary science. Two of the research objectives discussed in this paper is to determine teachers’ perceptions in conducting the TBL approach in the regular classroom and the students’ motivation after undergoing a series of TBL activities. Four teachers from 4 different schools volunteered to conduct TBL science lessons to an intact group of 187 students. Another group of 40 MRSM science teachers were given a 2 days TBL workshop. A five point Likert scale questionnaire on teachers’ perception and an intrinsic motivation inventory was used to collect data. The findings showed that despite 79% of teachers who are in favor of the TBL approach, many constrains faced by them might impede the implementation and success of the approach. 85.6% of the students were highly motivated intrinsically after undergoing the TBL lessons. This study aimed to identify the approaches employed by teachers in teaching Contemporary Children’s Literature Program to upper primary school. Using classroom observations and interview as research instruments, this paper evaluates the approaches of five ESL teachers teaching Year 5 students and examines the various challenges faced by them in the teaching of literature. Preliminary findings on the approaches revealed that the incorporation of literary elements in the classroom was minimal. Teachers were lacked creativity and fully utilized the modules provided by the Curriculum Development Centre. The Pre, While and Post-Reading was not employed effectively due to the lack of textbook provided by the school. Nevertheless, the program provides great potential for enhancing students’ language learning in the classroom.
