The global spread of English has led many classrooms in the post-colonial contexts that teach English as a second and foreign language to pursue monolingual ideologies and to hire expatriate monolingual teachers. Monolingual teachers are posited to pursue more efficient teaching styles and classroom practices than the local teachers. However, there is very little evidence to support this claim. The few studies that have to date investigated teaching styles either did not focus on the teachers' beliefs or their classroom practices and they did not systematically compared different types of teachers in the same context. This research was designed to determine the factors that affect the “lonjakan Saujana” (momentum leap) in national primary schools (NPS) at Klang Valley. This research was conducted at 276 national primary schools in Klang Valley. The involved districts were: Petaling Perdana, Petaling Utama, Klang, Gombak and Hulu Langat. This sample consisted of the principals of those schools. The research involved these aspect: the co-operations of teachers, infrastructure facilities, leadership of principals, the support of PTA and the learning condition. This study utilized a correlational design. This findings show that the momentum leap of national primary schools in Klang Valley has significant relationship with location, the school’s performance, the principal’s leadership style, socioeconomic status, infrastructure, support of PTA and learning condition at school. The purpose of this research was to identify the understanding of art therapy among primary school teachers in teaching and learning process in visual art education. 104 respondents from 17 primary schools in 6 different zones were selected. This research employed descriptive quantitative research methodology. Five major aspects have been identified namely: demography, knowledge, awareness, competency and attitude to understand better respondents understanding of art therapy in the teaching and learning process of visual art education. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Independent-samples T-test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson Correlations. The findings of this study revealed that the knowledge of respondents in relation to art therapy was low in comparison to their awareness. It is very popular in Kelantan especially in the Wayang Kulit ( puppet play) and the Gendang Silat ( Malay Silat drum troupe). The serunai players in Kelantan now are mostly very old people and there are only a few of the wayang kulit troupes still performing in Kelantan. Attitudes and motivation are two important elements in determining the achievement of students in their learning. These two aspects interact and influence each other and lacking either one of this aspect will contribute to poor achievement or performance of the students in their study. This study is aimed to find out the correlation between the students’ attitudes and motivation with their achievement towards learning English as a second language.
