The impact of using mother tongue on students speaking skills in ESL Classroom

The English language plays a crucial role in everyone’s life. The English language is a universal language and it is important to learn it properly, especially for the purpose of communication. However, ESL students are still struggling to learn and communicate by using the English language. Instead, they just prefer to communicate with their friends and teachers using their mother tongue in the classroom. Therefore, each and every student should give more importance to the English language. This qualitative case study aims to study the impacts of using mother tongue on students’ speaking skills in ESL classrooms. A systematic literature review based on the data was performed from thirty different articles pertaining to the use of mother tongue in ESL classrooms. Aim of this study was to investigate the preference of mechanism and technologies to build online  trust among consumer towards e-commerce website. Mechanisms and technologies that being studied  were secure communication channel mechanism, interaction with past consumers, clear policy, website  design, third party services, company information, and products or services information. The  selection of mechanisms and technologies are influenced by the gender, e-commerce experience,  Internet experience and personality being study to investigate influence of these factors. This  study adopted quantitative approach, use questionnaire as instrument and samples were 226  postgraduate from one of the public institutions of higher education (IPTA) in Malaysia. Perkataan tatabahasa ditafsirkan sebagai displin bahasa, takrifan dan keindahan dalam sesebuah bahasa. Kajian ini bertajuk ‘Membantu Kefahaman Tatabahasa Viṉaittokai bagi Pelajar Tingkatan Enam dengan Menggunakan Kaedah Pembelajaran Asynchronous ‘Viṉaittokai Aṟivōm'. Kajian ini mempunyai dua objektif. Iaitu, mengenal pasti masalah terhadap kefahaman Viṉaittokai dalam kalangan pelajar Tingkatan Enam dan meningkatkan kefahaman Viṉaittokai dalam kalangan pelajar Tingkatan Enam melalui kaedah pembelajaran asynchronous ‘Viṉaittokai Aṟivōm'. Proses pengajaran dan pemudahcaraan mementingkan kepada kesesuaian bentuk pedagogi yang dipilih oleh guru. Maka, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang bentuk-bentuk pedagogi yang diaplikasikan, pendekatan pengajaran yang digunakan dan tahap penggunaan teknologi di kalangan guru subjek Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Al-Mu’asirah sepanjang proses PdPc LAM. Tambahan pula, kajian ini adalah berbentuk kajian kualitatif dengan menerapkan pelaksanaan temubual separa berstruktur, merangkumi empat persoalan temubual yang bakal menjawab persoalan kajian ini dan melibatkan seramai sepuluh orang guru subjek Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Al-Mu’asirah sebagai responden kajian dari Sekolah Agama Menengah Jeram, Kuala Selangor, Selangor. Tahap kecerdasan pemain bola sepak negeri Sarawak

Kajian mengenai Tahap Kecergasan Pemain Bola Sepak Negeri Sarawak ini adalah berbentuk ex-post-faxto iaitu kaedah kajian yang menggunakan ujian amali lapangan yang kuantitatif. Kajian ini menggunakan purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 25 orang pemain bola sepak (MSSM) lelaki bawah 18 tahun Negeri Sarawak yang sedang menjalani latihan pusat berterusan untuk sepanjang musim. Kesemua pemain tersebut menerima treatment latihan dalam permainan bola sepak dari jurulatih bertauliah yang telah mendapat pengiktirafan dari Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM). Semua data dalam kajian ini diperolehi melalui ujian kecergasan fizikal yang dijalankan menggunakan lima komponen ujian kecergasan fizikal iaitu ujian lompat jauh berdiri, ujian bangkit tubi lutut bengkok, ujian jangkauan melunjur, ujian PACER dan Indeks Jisim Badan (FITNESSGRA. ;Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research, 1992) yang telah diberikan terhadap pemain bola sepak lelaki 18 tahun ke bawah Negeri Sarawak. The purpose of this study is to find out the problems faced by secondary school students in reading with correct pronunciation and their reasons, and to improve the students' ability to read with correct pronunciation through Powtoon application. This study used only qualitative method. This study was conducted in a secondary school in Sungkai district of Perak state. For this study, ten secondary students were selected by the researcher and among them the students were subjected to the study and ten students were controlled. In this study observation, pre-test and interview methods were used to collect data. The researcher conducted activities for the students with the help of Powtoon application for five weeks to improve their reading ability with correct pronunciation. The purpose of this research study was to find out how group work enhances students’ participation in literature activities in an ESL classroom as well as the students’ views on the use of group work in literature activities in an ESL classroom. This study was carried out in a secondary school in Machang, Kelantan using an action research approach. 21 students took part in this study. As for the data collection instruments, classroom observation recording, classroom observation checklist and questionnaire were used. The results of the classroom observation recording and classroom observation checklist indicated that the students managed to participate well in performing the literature activities in the classroom. This study investigates the impact of using nursery rhymes in English Language lessons in improving the e-mail writing skill of low proficiency students. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membina dan menilai kesan pembelajaran secara flipped classroom terhadap tahap motivasi, penglibatan dan pencapaian pelajar dalam topik perakaunan pengurusan. Rancangan instruksional dibina berdasarkan pengintegrasian pendekatan flipped classroom dan first principle of instruction. Kandungan dan aktiviti-aktiviti pembelajaran dibina berdasarkan kepada Spesifikasi Kurikulum Bahagian Matrikulasi, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia dan merangkumi empat topik perakaunan pengurusan: Manufacturing Overhead, Job Order Costing, Process Costing dan Absorption Costing and Marginal Costing. Seramai tiga orang pakar telah menilai kesahan rancangan instruksional ini dengan peratusan persetujuan pakar sebanyak 93.33%. Bagi proses penilaian, pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan reka bentuk kuasi eksperimen digunakan dalam kajian ini.
