Kawaii-style pedagogical agents designs in virtual learning environment: a research conceptual framework

Pedagogical agents are animated virtual characters that play human instructional roles in educational settings. Towards the advancement of computer technology and communication, human learning is becoming more advanced by using technologies such as pedagogical agent. Previously, the look of pedagogical agents has been designed with own imagination of the designers without assessing its impact on the learning. In addition, there are limited researches on the visual appearance of pedagogical agent. Therefore, a further study is required to fill this gap and provide appropriate visual appearance for pedagogical agent that will contribute to enhancing students’ motivation in learning. Issues and trends of the technical, building and engineering drawing subject in the Malaysian Vocational College

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current practice in the vocational colleges that contributes to the issues found within the technical, building and engineering drawing subjects. The objective is to identify the effects of the current practice of these subjects’ on the issues identified through the literature study. This study adopted exploratory design, and literature analysis and interview were conducted for data collection. Through the literature analysis, the common issues found within the subjects were highlighted. Then these issues were posted to selected teachers for further discussion. The teachers were selected based on their expertise and years of experience. Through the interview session, feedbacks from the teachers were obtained pertaining to their current practice which directly shed light on the issues being faced. Issues and challenges of work engagement among lecturers

Lecturers’ job scope is challenging and demanding. It can lead to undesirable behaviours within the academic practice if lecturers start to feel burdened by those job scopes. Hence, rather than solely focusing on performance, lecturers’ engagement towards their tasks should be acknowledged. This article is attempting to discuss the issues and challenges related to the work engagement of lecturers by referring to previous articles. First, the concept of work engagement is described. Then, the reality of lecturers’ engagement is explored. Then, it is followed by the current challenges within their job that might risk their engagement are included. This article concludes with a summary of the article and some recommendations for future researches. The role of war violence on the image of love based on selected novels of Ernest Hemingway

This study intended to highlight the dual themes of war and love from the perspective of Ernest Hemingway. The objectives of this study stated firstly, the portrayal of love based on selected novels by Ernest Hemingway, secondly the depiction of the war violence and thirdly the impact of the war violence on the image of love and how this influence has been portrayed through his fictional characters. Four novels constituted the database for this study. The methodology relied on the concepts of the social psychology theory as a big umbrella, while Attribution theory as sub-theory was employed in carrying out the analysis as a critical study in modern American literature. The focus, therefore, would be on the characters′ acts, actions, and the setting. The findings showed that the image of love has been affected by war violence. Intuitive eating behavior and obesity among adolescents in Malaysia

Malaysia has witnessed a sharp increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity in the past decade and named as the highest rate of overweight and obesity among all Southeast Asian countries by WHO in 2018. Despite the importance of the dietary knowledge intervention related to obesity and overweight, there is a lack of study on intuitive eating behaviour among Malaysian adolescents. Most of the existing overweight and obesity intervention was targeted to adolescents without considering the different psychological, cultures, religions, and ethnicities, making the current approaches less suitable for Malaysian adolescents. Innovation of easy learning basic pattern for beginners as teaching materials in field of sewing

This study aims to develop a teaching tool called Easy Learning Basic Pattern for Beginners to solve problems that arise when students design patterns. The selected sample involved Form 4 students who took the Household Science subject to determine the effectiveness of this teaching aid innovation. A questionnaire containing 32 items was distributed to the respondents and analysed descriptively using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences software version 23. The study found that students’ perceptions towards the proposed teaching aid are high in terms of understanding and interest in sewing. The results can help students to understand the steps to design patterns correctly and serves as one of the teaching aids that can be utilised by teachers in teaching sewing. Children’s Theatre or Theatre For Young Audience can involve children in actual productions, plays and musicals aimed explicitly for children, or a mixture of both. The study aims to look at the combination of children’s theatre and creative movement that results in boosting pre-school children’s self -confidence and its ability to aid in their holistic development. The study was conducted in a nursery to expose theatre as a medium to express feelings, emotions and behaviors amongst children. Theatre as a medium of learning is also expected to be a place for children to showcase existing talent and help the child to boost their self- confidence. This study was conducted to highlight the method in drama as one of the alternative approaches in teaching and facilitation for primary students with special needs focusing on level 2 in dyslexia. This study looked into how the Malay Language's teaching and learning facilitation can improve their literacy abilities. This research applied two cycles of Kemmis action research. A drama activity module using the Environment and Green Technology theme has been modified based on the Malaysian National Standard Curriculum for Special Education in Primary Schools (KSSRPK) for learning disabilities by referring to the Standard Curriculum and Assessment Document (DSKP) in Malay Language subject.
