Mobile-assisted mind mapping (MAMMAT) as a tool to support university students' argumentative writing
Rafidah Abd Karim
This study focuses on a technological tool known as the Mobileassisted Mind Mapping Technique (MAMMAT). This tool was designed and developed as a mobile application to deliver essential course contents employing online mind mapping to support argumentative writing skill performance. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the effects of MAMMAT on English as a Second Language (ESL) university students in Malaysia. The participants of this study were 45 ESL university students from two lecture groups at a public university campus in Malaysia. The study employed a quasiexperimental research design. The experimental group was taught with the MAMMAT while the control group was taught using the conventional method. The pre-test and post-test scores were analyzed through the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Based on the ANCOVA results, the mean score of post-tests for the MAMMAT on the experimental group was higher than the mean of post-tests on the control group in terms of argume.....

Mitigation strategies in supply chain risk management: a literature review
Norlaile Salleh Hudin
This systematic literature review aims to analyze risk mitigation studies spanning across 2004 ?2019. Embarking on the PRISMA approach, studies were selected through the identification, screening, eligibility and analysis steps. The findings revealed three main themes (culture, independent response and co-operative response), and 16 sub-themes. Several recommendations for future research were underscored including the need to conduct more studies to understand the culture, independent response and cooperative response for reactivestrategies. This study could guide future researchers to augment the current literature by progressing towards the proposed recommendations. ? 2021, CA and C Press AB. All rights reserved...

Methylene blue active substances (Mbas) and linear alkylbenzene sulphonates (las) in urban and suburban atmospheric aerosol
Nurul Bahiyah Abd Wahid
Surfactant is one of the pollutants derived from atmospheric aerosol that can adversely affect the human health and environment. This study aims to characterize the level of anionic surfactants as Methylene Blue Active Substances (MBAS) and Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonates (LAS) extracted from atmospheric aerosol from urban (Kuala Lumpur) and suburban (Bangi) area of Malaysia. For aerosol sampling, a high volume sampler (HVAS) with a cascade impactor was used to collect atmospheric aerosol sample according to particle size (coarse mode (>1.5 m) and fine mode ( 0.05). From this study, it can be concluded that MBAS concentrations in urban and suburban atmosphere are not fully affected by commercial LAS. Majority of MBAS may be presented from other natural activities and anthropogenic sources such as motor vehicle emission, combustion of biomass, and the earth's crust. The management of surfactants? use needs to be reconsidered to enhance a better atmosphere especially in urban and subu.....

Methyl syringate and isovanilic acid from the bark of alphonsea elliptica
Yuhanis Mhd Bakri
A phytochemical study of dichloromethane extract of Alphonsea elliptica has led to the isolation of two compounds previously unreported from the species methyl syringate and isovanilic acid. Stigmasterol which has been previously reported was also isolated. The structures were determined by spectroscopic techniques and by comparison with data reported in the literature. The findings of this study will contribute to the chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic aspects of the Alphonsea sp. ? 2021 World Research Association. All rights reserved...

Metacognition of junior high school students in mathematics problem solving based on cognitive style
Sutama
The aim of this study was to explain junior high school students' metacognition with Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) cognitive styles in mathematics problem solving. The statistical population of this study was all junior high school students in the Sragen regency in the 2018/2019 academic year. Purposive sampling was used to pick the subjects. Different instruments such as the cognitive style tests, the problem-solving exercises, and the interview guidelines were used to reach the research purpose. Moreover, time triangulation was used to ensure data validity. The data has been processed through four stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that the students who have field-independent cognitive styles indicated high self-confidence and the ability to solve the problem correctly. They were also able to do planning steps, make important decisions for themselves, and solve the problem properly. However, students w.....

Mentoring practise during practicum: the perspectives of Malaysian pre-service English language teachers
Intan Safinas Mohd Ariff Albakri
This study investigates the issues in mentoring practise based on pre-service English language teachers? perspectives about their mentoring experience. This study involved 56 pre-service teachers who had completed their practicum. The study used a quantitative data collection method whereby a questionnaire survey was distributed to the research participants. The data from the questionnaire was then analysed by using SPSS to generate descriptive statistics for item analysis. The findings were discussed based on five mentoring factors which are personal attributes, system requirements, pedagogical knowledge, modelling, and feedback. The findings show that modelling and pedagogical knowledge received among the lowest mean scores indicating the moderate satisfactory level of mentoring experience received by the pre-service teachers. The data also shows considerable issues in mentoring quality in terms of pedagogical knowledge. Based on the findings, one of the most crucial issues to be add.....

Muhamamd Ridhwan Sarifin
The formation of identity is derived from biology and the social environment. The biology of genetics is still ongoing. Whereas the social environment is affected by the surrounding environment. In modern times, identity formation remained largely influenced by media platforms. This article is intended to uncover the media platform used by the second generation of Bawean people. Second, this article discusses the media?s impact on the retention of their identities, especially the second generation of Bawean people. This study is based on a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with specialised informants and library studies. Interviews were analysed on the basis of questions of identity formation derived from the model of Hong et al. (2001). The study found that the platform media used by the second generation are electronic media, including social media and broadcast media, such as radio and television. Print media is part of a collection that is kept for learning. The impa.....

Mathematical learning transformation through cybergogy approach towards future ready curriculum
Nor\'ain Mohd Tajudin
In parallel with the Future Ready Curriculum (FRC) framework, a new teaching and learning pedagogy concept in education has been created, known as cybergogy. However, there are still no cybergogy criteria which can be used as a basis in implementing mathematical teaching and learning at higher education level using the cybergogy approach. Thus, this study aims to generate the criteria of cybergogy approach for mathematical teaching and learning at higher education level. For this approach, the themes and its' characteristics will be determined to inform the mathematics educators the ways to implement the cybergogy approach in class. The intensive and rigorous literature review were done for analysing teaching and learning models from the theoretical, model or conceptual aspects, several education policy documents that are related to teaching and learning at higher institution as well as best practices in an effective learning environments both at national and international level and in.....
