| 2024 Article | The evaluation of problem-solving oriented e-module in learning computer-based subject Noor Hidayah Che Lah, Yusri Abdullah It is tough and challenging to learn several computer-based subjects via an online learning setting during COVID-19 for students from the education field. It required a lot of skills, techniques, understanding among students, and the ability to think critically to solve problems. To date, a lack of studies provides digital content as learning approaches to computer-based subject students for their learning via online learning. Thus, the problem-solving oriented e-module in learning computer-based subject via Facebook for Higher Education was proposed. An exploratory sequential research design (qualitative and then quantitative approach) has been used in this study. Research samples were selected based on purposive sampling (10 students) to find out what they needed from the e-module. Then, the module was developed based on ADDIE Model and problem-solving learning strategy. There were nine experts validated the e-module in terms of the ADDIE model approach, problem-solving approach, and..... 18 hits |

In this study, an automatic thread insertion set for sewing (ATIKs) was developed. The ATIKs device improves students' understanding and facilitates the process of sewing in fashion design subjects for high school curriculum. The device was programmed using an Arduino microcontroller board and open source Arduino software (IDE). The CDIO model is used as the basis for product development, which includes the steps from conception to design, implementation, and operation. The development for this product consists of the main components standard needle size, automatic thread, Arduino UNO R3, stepper motor, coil, and Arduino coding to control the movement. In addition, this product is relatively portable with its dimensions of 7 x 7 x 10 cm. A qualitative research method was applied using a list of ..... 35 hits |
| 2024 Article | Student Profiling for Online Learning During Covid-19: A Systematic Review Noor Hidayah Azmi, Norshahila Ibrahim, Erni Marlina Saari, Asilah Abdul Mutalib The Covid-19 epidemic has spurred significant changes in learning paradigms in several countries, including Malaysia. Particularly, the Malaysian government's Movement Control Order (MCO) forced both students and teachers to turn to online learning. It is true that its adoption is rife with fresh difficulties, including network coverage, device appropriateness, and socio-economic status of students, and digital competency, which makes teaching and learning at home incredibly difficult. Since students have a variety of learning needs, abilities, skills, and goals, it is crucial to develop learner profiles that can aid in the development of appropriate online learning approaches in order to address such issues. A systematic review of the most recent literature was conducted using three major databases: Scopus, ERIC, and Mendeley, as was envisioned in this context. The review helped identify 23 relevant publications that were then subjected to a thematic analysis, which helped reveal thre..... 43 hits |
| 2024 Article | A Study of Attitudes, Skills, and Barriers Among the Special Education Hearing Impairment Teachers in the Use of Assistive Technology in Teaching Vestly Kong Liang Soon In the context of special education, most of the special education hearing impairment (SEHI) teachers understand that the use of assistive technology (AT) is a necessity in teaching and providing opportunities for SEHI students to control and improve their learning. However, the question of the acceptance of SEHI teachers use of AT in teaching is not much discussed. The objective of this study is to examine the attitudes, skills, and barriers of SEHI teachers to the use of AT in teaching. This study was conducted in special education secondary schools (SESS) in Selangor, Penang, Pahang, and Kedah. The sampling used was a purposive sampling of four respondents, consisting of two male teachers and two female teachers. The design of this study uses qualitative approaches, and interviews are the methods used as research instruments. The result of the study was an analysis of content (content analysis) by presenting the exact sentence of the respondent. The findings show the SEHI teachers h..... 11 hits |
| 2024 Article | Augmented Reality (AR): An Assistive Technology for Special Education Needs Wong Kung Teck, Hasrul Hosshan, Hafizul Fahri Hanafi Since 2017, the Ministry of Education has introduced Basic Vocational Skills subjects that able special students to master basic living skills in their schooling years underlying Secondary School Standard Curriculum – Special Education (KSSM –PK). The biggest challenge for individuals with ASD is to be independent and get jobs after schooling. Hence, beginning in 2017, Secondary School Standard Curriculum – Special Education (KSSM –PK) has introduced the Basic Vocational Skills subject, which students must master during their schooling years. From the preliminary study, many teachers revealed that they face difficulty delivering lessons primarily related to teaching and learning materials to enhance ASD students mastering living and vocational skills. Designing and developing effective teaching and learning aids, especially for children with special education needs are in alarming stages. Parents and caregivers indicated they face insufficient enhancement and practice learning ..... 29 hits |
| 2024 Article | AR-Speaking Buddy: Designing Content and User Interface of An Augmented Reality (AR)-Based Application for Malaysian Children Speaking Practice Marzita binti Hj Mansor, Suliana binti Sulaiman, Rohaizah binti Abdul Wahid, Saira Banu binti Omar Khan, Asma Hanee binti Ariffin The application of augmented reality (AR) as a learning tool is crucial for incorporating virtual objects into real-world environments to support learners in their educational journey. Despite the growing interest in AR applications for learning, research in this area is still in its early stages, particularly concerning the development of AR applications tailored for children, taking into account their needs and design preferences. This study aims to gain insights into children's perspectives on interface and content design, specifically for augmented reality application development. By involving children in the design process, the study seeks to identify their interface design preferences for AR characters and explore the topics that interest them the most. To achieve these objectives, the paper outlines the development process of an AR mobile application named "AR-Speaking Buddy," which was designed by considering children's content needs and interface design preferences. The applic..... 26 hits |

| 2024 Article | The Impact of Interactive Acting Learning as an Alternative to Digital Acting Teaching in Malaysian Art School: A Comprehensive Review Muhammad Faisal Ahmad, Muchammad Bayu Tejo Sampurno, Mardiana Ismail, Nor Shuradi Haji Nor Hashim The surge in online learning has transformed education, impacting how acting is taught in Malaysian Art Schools. To ensure continual learning progress, diverse instructional strategies are employed, but the pandemic has disrupted traditional studio and in-the-field acting training. This study addresses the challenge of adapting fundamental acting education for lower secondary students at a Malaysian Art School in the context of remote learning. The conventional hands-on, in-person approach to teaching acting conflicts with the current demand for technology-infused learning, hindering cognitive growth. The absence of tailored Alternative Teaching Aids (ABM) for digital online learning further compounds the issue, emphasizing the need for a more engaging teaching method aligned with the school's curriculum. This project aims to evaluate the impact of interactive learning on the digital acting teaching approach within the existing syllabus. It seeks to provide teachers and basic theatre a..... 40 hits |
| 2024 Article | Literature Survey: The Potential of Integrating Immersive Experience and Aesthetic Experience in Virtual Reality Historical Event Mohd Ekram Al Hafis Hashim, Muhammad Zaffwan Idris This study intends to explore the potential of integrating of two major theories that stemmed from two entirely different disciplines, namely the human-computer interaction and the arts. Indeed, there are vast gaps when two different theories, such as technology and art, are to be unified to develop a new element that complements to both disciplines. Empirically, virtual reality as immersive technological innovations are progressively developed and evaluated among various disciplines. Virtual reality technically is customarily to immersive experience as a measurement tool while virtual three-dimensional animated environment in virtual reality is an aesthetic object that requires an aesthetic-friendly method as its measurement tool. The proposition of evaluation is to measure the user immersive experience and aesthetic experience when dealing with an art object that imbues with digital technology. Therefore, an integrative multidimensional evaluation is required to evaluate virtual real..... 31 hits |
