An analysis of scenography functions: Visual communication through the SARAH theatre [Analisis fungsi sinografi: Komunikasi visual melalui pementasan teater SARAH]

This article discusses the issues of the function of scenography in building aspects of visual communication through the SARAH Theatre. The function of scenography on stage such as set design, lighting and costumes is an important element in theatre. The role of scenography can help the actor with full appreciation. Scenographer design placed on the stage helps the actors to identify their roles and responsibilities through understanding the needs of performing on stage and being able to visualize to give understanding to the audience. Visual communication on a stage is divided into three sets, costumes, make-up, and lighting. Visual elements must be united, connected and complete to give effectiveness in a stage. Political communication: uncovering knowledge, attitudes and young voters’ readiness for PRU-15 in Batang Padang District, Perak

Malaysia made history when the Dewan Rakyat approved an amendment to the Federal Constitution that lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 years old. The countrys democratic system was colored by the automatic registration of those who turned 18 as voters for the 15th Malaysian General Election (GE-15). This amendment aims to democratize the political process in this nation and promote mature, fair, and equitable elections. This ongoing study aims to discover young voters' knowledge, attitudes, and readiness toward the 15th general election (PRU-15) in Batang Padang, Perak district. Methodologically, a quantitative approach was used where 462 youth participants completed questionnaires. The findings discovered that although attitudes and readiness among young voters in the research population are at a moderate level, they have a high level of knowledge. Vocabulary index as a sustainable resource for teaching extended writing in the post-pandemic era

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Malaysian English teachers identified a pressing need to support upper primary school pupils, particularly those in the upper levels, in the effective composition of extended writing. Additionally, these educators required more innovative methodologies for teaching vocabulary in this context. Consequently, the current study aimed to develop a vocabulary index as a suggested resource for Malaysian English teachers instructing upper primary school pupils on extended writing. To achieve this, a quantitative computational research strategy and corpus-driven research design were employed. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 560 advanced upper primary school pupils from 28 schools, each with high English performance in the capital of each state and the federal territory of Malaysia, who produced a total of 152,187 words in extended writing for analysis. Alternative pedagogy approaches in physical education and health education

This study aims to develop alternative pedagogical approaches to Physical Education and Health Education. The development of the alternative pedagogical approaches is based on 21st-century learning, Constructivism Theory, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The research design used the pre-experimental one-shot case study method A sample of 65 Physical Education teachers was obtained through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed descriptively using mean and percentage. Subsequently, the effectiveness of the alternative pedagogical approaches and the interobserver agreement was evaluated using a questionnaire. The 8 alternative pedagogical approaches that have been developed include Music (95%), Commentary Review (85%), Plotter Sketch (95%), Body Metaphor (85%), Ideaspora (90%), Extrapolation (85%), Stage Play (85%), and Skimps (95%). The role of perceived social support on psychological well-being of university students during the covid-19 pandemic

Past research revealed concerns over the depressive symptoms and psychological well -being of university students. The present study utilizes a stratified random sampling to examine the role of perceived social support on psychological wellbeing between depressed and non-depressed university students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. This study recruited a total of 244 university students from different universities across Malaysia from November 2021 to July 2022 through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. A prevalence rate of 50.4% of university students was found to present significant depressive symptoms. There is a significant correlation between perceived social support and psychological wellbeing (r = 0.769, p < 0.05). The effectiveness of asynchronous online role-play on ESL learners willingness to communicate

This paper investigates the use of asynchronous online role-play as a learning technique to improve ESL learners willingness to communicate. This study proposes two research objectives; to investigate the significant difference in ESL learners willingness to communicate before and after performing asynchronous role-play and to identify factors that impact the ESL learners willingness to communicate. A mixed-methods approach is used to understand the impact of the intervention. A set of questionnaires, reflective journal entries and a semi-structured interview were administered to tertiary level ESL students. Results from this study revealed that willingness to communicate among the participants in the treatment group significantly increased with the aid of asynchronous online role-play. The effect of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) addition on the synthesis of? ETA-Tricalcium Phosphate (?-TCP) from biogenic hydroxyapatite

The utilization of ?-tricalcium phosphate (?-TCP) in medical field has been on demand for their excellent biocompatibility, bioactivity and solubility properties. This material can be produced through degradation of hydroxyapatite (HA) at high temperature. In this research, biogenic hydroxyapatite from fish scales (FsHA) was selected as pre-cursor for the synthesis of ?-TCP. The effect of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) addition on degradation of FsHA into ?-TCP have been investigated. Different amount of YSZ ranging from 5 to 15 wt% were mixed with FsHA and ball milled into fine powder. The mixture was then sintered at temperature of 1200 C. The materials were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results from FTIR, XRD and SEM-EDX analyses proved that the presence of ?-TCP in the sintered sample at 1200oC. The properties of poly(Latic Acid) (PLA)/Hydroxyapatite (FsHAp) composite prepared through solvent casting techniques

In this study, the properties of composites produced using solvent casting technique from poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and fish scale hydroxyapatite (FsHA) were investigated. Some amount of FsHAp powders (from 10 to 70 wt%) were added to the PLA solution and stirred for eight hours after the PLA was dissolved in the dichloromethane (DCM) solvent. The homogeneous mixture of PLA and FsHA was poured into the metal mould and dried in the oven for 4 hours to produce a dried PLA/FsHA composite sheet. The PLA/FsHA composite sheet with different FsHA filler contents was successfully prepared. These composites were characterised by Fourier transform infared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), tensile tester and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It can be seen that by addition of 50 wt% FsHA filler contents gave the highest Youngs Modulus and tensile strength values of 2114.8 MPa and 23.3 MPa, respectively due to effective interaction between fillers and matrix. Framework: It is common knowledge that education today requires teachers to be more creative in delivering learning and teaching in the classroom. Findings: The result shows the rapidity of technology is now to some extent helping teachers find fresher ideas to conduct teaching in the classroom.
