| 701 | 2024 Article | Teaching tamil literature using ‘Book Creator’ app Rhina Davaraj Abstract: This paper is a part of a research that investigates the innovative teaching method for Tamil Literature. Tamil Literature has been teaching in school since the start of Tamil Vernacular Schools. ‘Book Creator is a software that works as a flip book. This paper has introduced and explained the ‘Book Creator’ app and the usage of it. The findings also have discussed some Tamil Literature school syllabus that have inserted in ‘Book Creator’. This innovation is very useful for online based teaching and learning methods for teachers and students.

The researcher implemented The Bottom-Up Theory to identify key reading skill components such as Pronunciation, tone, speed, and fluency. Findings revealed that most students face Challenges in developing their reading skills. The study aimed to (1) assess the Baseline reading skills of Form 2 students before the intervention using flashcards. Based on the Bottom-Up Theory, (2) evaluate their reading skills after the Intervention, and (3) analyze the overall impact of the flashcard-based training on Their reading abilities. Selain itu, tujuan kajian ini dilakukan untuk memperlihatkan kesan kehadiran penanda pragmatik ya terhadap daya ilokusi lakuan tuturan. Kajian ini menggunakan Pendekatan Reka Bentuk dan Pembangunan Ubahsuai melibatkan fasa analisis keperluan, fasa reka bentuk dan pembangunan dan fasa penilaian. Data fasa analisis keperluan, dikumpul melalui kajian tinjauan menggunakan soal selidik skala Likert 5 poin yang diedarkan kepada 79 guru pendidikan khas, menunjukkan tahap kreativiti yang rendah dalam kalangan MBPK masalah pembelajaran, dengan skor min 2.02 merentas empat aspek kreativiti, iaitu; a) keaslian, b) kelancaran, c) fleksibiliti, dan d) penghuraian. This research was conducted using a mixed approach, with quantitative and qualitative data collected from 15 Form 1 students and 3 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Sepang, Selangor. Instruments used to collect data include pre-tests, post-activity tests, interviews, and observations. After the initial test, the researcher implemented 4 activities namely Word Treasure Hunt, Snake & Ladder, Picture Connection, Mystery Words and Bingo to improve the oral skills of the students. The results of this study found that the Peer Teaching approach can be used to improve speaking skills. Through this, the skill of presenting ideas sequentially among students is improved.
