Evaluating postural sway parameters can play an integral part in a rehabilitation program. One device capable of quantifying postural sway measures is the Chattecx Dynamic Balance System (CDBS). The purpose of the Study 1 was to determine the test-retest reliability and the discriminant validity of the CDBS. Forty non-injured females, ranging in age from 20 to 49 years (mean age 30.03 ± 6.95 years) were randomly assigned according to the hours spent per week practicing sporting activities. This study demonstrated that the CDBS revealed good test-retest reliability (ICCs > 0.80), but it did not have good discriminant validity in distinguishing the effect of hours spent at sporting activities per week for postural sway control between Group 1 (exercise five hours or more) and Group 2 (exercise less than five hours) when testing static and dynamic balance. This study aims to investigate the generation rates and composition, management practices, and peoples’ awareness on welding waste related issues. Descriptive survey design was adopted, and data were collected from six vocational colleges located in the central zone of peninsular Malaysia. Methods used for data collection include on-site waste measurement, survey questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and field observation. Quantitative data were analyzed using Statistical Programme for Social Sciences (SPSS) while the qualitative data were analyzed by classifying data into emerging categories and themes. The results revealed that welding waste issues in vocational colleges were significant, based on amount, composition, management and peoples’ awareness. On average, welding waste generation rates were up to 83.42 kgw- 1 and per capita generation rate was 1.23 kgw-1st-1. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengesahkan semula ciri-ciri hujan wilayah barat yang telah dibentuk berdasarkan Dale pada 1959. Fokus diberikan untuk mengenal pasti trend dan intensiti hujan jangka masa panjang di kawasan wilayah barat dari tahun 1960 hingga 2010 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai kawasan sederhana basah. Data hujan daripada stesen hujan yang terletak dalam kawasan wilayah barat yang diperolehi daripada Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia dan Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Data hujan tahunan bagi 133 buah stesen dari tahun 1960 hingga 2010 dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan ujian Mann- Kendall. Persempadanan semula wilayah hujan dibentuk menggunakan topologi dalam Sistem Maklumat Geografi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan semua stesen mengalami trend hujan tahunan meningkat dari tahun 1960 hingga 2010 walaupun tidak signifikan berdasarkan Mann-Kendall (P=1). Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara status hidrasi, tahap pengetahuan hidrasi dan jumlah pengambilan minuman sepanjang latihan dalam kalangan pemain bola sepak UPSI. Seramai 25 orang peserta lelaki berumur 22.3 ±1.1 tahun, tinggi 1.7 ± 0.1m, berat badan 63.3 ± 8.9kg dan BMI 22.2 ±2.5kg/m2 telah menyertai kajian ini selama tiga hari. Status hidrasi dinilai sebelum latihan dengan menggunakan carta warna urin dan ‘Urine Specific Gravity’ (USG). Jumlah pengambilan minuman dan pengeluaran peluh dicatatkan. The aim of this study is to develop a model that incorporates Occupational Safety and Health Administration Practices (OSHAP), OHSAS 18001 efforts and Occupational Safety and Health Administration Performance (OSHAPM) in Malaysian automotive suppliers. Every company in manufacturing industry is compulsory to have a certification of safety to reduce accident or incident caused. However, before they have the certification they should implement OSHAP to decrease the management cost. A survey through questionnaire was conducted to determine the level of OSHAP implementation, OHSAS 18001 Efforts as well as OSHAPM measurement. 278 sets of questionnaire were successfully collected that brought to 69.50% response rate. The objective of this study is to extract, isolate, and elucidate the indole alkaloids from the roots of Kopsia singapurensis Ridl. collected from Kluang, Johor. The extraction process of the plant was carried out using hexane followed by dichloromethane (DCM) to yield hexane and DCM crude extracts. The isolation and purification process were performed by various chromatographic techniques namely column chromatography (CC), thin layer chromatography (TLC) and preparative thin layer chromatography (PTLC). The structures of isolated compounds were elucidated by using spectroscopic methods such as 1D-NMR (1H, 13C, and DEPT 135?) and 2D-NMR (COSY, HMQC, and HMBC), ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR) and mass spectrometry (MS), and also by comparison with previous works. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangun perisian multimedia bagi pengajaran dan pembelajaran berbantu komputer serta menilai keberkesanannya terhadap pencapaian murid bermasalah pendengaran dalam mata pelajaran Pembantu Penyedia Makanan. Dalam proses pembangunan, kebolehgunaan perisian multimedia diuji dan dinilai oleh enam orang guru mata pelajaran Pembantu Penyedia Makanan dengan menggunakan borang penilaian. The purpose of this research is to produce the formulas of the homological functors of some Bieberbach groups of dimension ?ve with dihedral point group of order eight. The homological functors consist of the nonabelian tensor square, G-trivial subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square, the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square, the nonabelian exterior square and Schur multiplier. The computational method for polycyclic groups is used to determine the formulas of the functors. Selected theorems, lemmas and de?nitions are also used in the computation. The ?findings of this research are the new formulas of the homological functors and also the generalization of one of the functors that is the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square. Kajian ini bertujuan menilai pemahaman konsep Jirim dan Haba dalam kalangan murid sekolah rendah. Kaedah kuantitatif yang digunakan dalam kajian ini melibatkan 289 murid sebagai responden daripada enam buah sekolah rendah di sekitar Selangor dan Perak. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah dua set soalan ujian bagi tajuk Jirim dan Haba yang setiap satunya mengandungi enam item soalan terbuka. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap prakonsepsi murid-murid Tahun Tiga berada di tahap tinggi bagi konsep Jirim dan Haba. Walaubagaimanapun, bagi murid- murid Tahun Lima, tahap miskonsepsi adalah sederhana. Hasil kajian juga mendapati kebanyakan murid mengalami kesukaran dalam menerangkan sifat jirim, menjelaskan perubahan fasa yang berlaku terhadap jirim serta mendefinisikan konsep haba. Kesimpulannya, miskonsepsi dalam kalangan murid Tahun Lima terhadap tajuk Jirim dan Haba masih kekal walaupun mereka telah mempelajari tajuk ini selama dua tahun. The aim of this research is to study the efficiency of the order-2 extrapolated implicit Runge-Kutta methods. The order-2 methods being considered are the implicit midpoint (IMR) and implicit trapezoidal (ITR) rules. These methods are applied with the polynomial and rational extrapolations actively and passively with smoothing to improve the accuracy. In order to reduce the round-off errors, a technique known as compensated summation with simplified Newton is implemented in all the numerical codes. The results are given based on numerical experiments that are carried out using MATLAB software. The findings showed that passive polynomial extrapolation by the IMR and ITR are more efficient than with active and passive rational extrapolation. The smoothing technique with extrapolation by the IMR and ITR gives better behavior than without the smoothing technique.
