| 10841 | 2010 Thesis | Prestasi kecergasan fizikal dan pembentukan piawai rujukan kriteria bagi pemain ragbi 16 tahun di sekolah elit dan bukan elit ragbi negeri Perak Kanaisan Kanapathy The purpose of this study is to measure and evaluate the level of physical fitness of the 16 years old rugby players in the elite rugby schools and the non-elite rugby schools in the State of Perak and to setup the standard criterion reference for the Physical Fitness Rugby Test for both schools. A total of 102 rugby players from the elite and non-elite schools in the state of Perak, has been chosen as samples. The measurement of the physical fitness levels were being acquired based on the Physical Fitness Test that comprised of the 30 meter Sprint Test, Sit-Up Test, Multi Stage Physical Fitness Test, 10 Meter Shuttle Run Test, and Body Mass Index Test. Independent t-test for the Physical Fitness Test showed t (100) = 3.932, p = .001 and there was significant difference in physical fitness level among players between the elite rugby schools (M=289.9, SD = 9.64) and non-elite rugby schools (M=281.6, SD = 11.52) in Perak. Pembinaan modul PBM-RK adalah berdasarkan gabungan model Sidek dan Jamaludin serta model 3C3R. Pengintegrasian perancahan PRK dalam modul PBM-RK dilakukan berasaskan penggabungan model maklum balas PRK dan kitaran PRK. In this case, the students are viewed as bringing personal meaning actively to the reading process. The reading comprehension lessons were carried out with a group of elementary students’ reading behaviours being observed and audio-recorded and the data were collected and analyzed qualitatively. The KWLS grid was used to assist students to activate their prior knowledge by generating questions and discussion to construct meaning while reading. Activating and developing prior knowledge presents background material supporting the importance of schemata and prior knowledge for literacy development. It utitilized a survey research design with emphasis on the correlational method of analysis. Based on the findings of this study, the results indicate that there is a significant difference in the mean scores of the academic performance between male and female students. Therefore, there is a statistically significant difference in the academic performance of students learning English from different gender groups. There were 12 respondents selected voluntarily to give information for this study. A 2, 004 words academic text were used as an instrument of this study. The researcher used two methods of data collection, they were: think aloud protocol and text retelling protocol. Respondents were asked to read the passage individually and do the think aloud protocol based on their readings. Later on, they do the reading for the second time before they were asked to do the text retelling protocol. The readings and retelling were recorded for transcription. Findings show that respondents have been using 17 types of reading strategies to understand the text. There were three types of reading strategies used frequently by the respondents, they were elaborating strategies (36.37%), rereading strategies (22.61%) and paraphrase strategies (20.39%).
