Penyelidikan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahap obesiti kanak-kanak perempuan sekolah rendah yangberumur 10 tahun, 11 tahun dan 12 tahun di Zon Inanam dalam daerah Kota Kinabalu. Kajian ini jugaadalah untuk mengenal pasti korelasi di antara indeks jisim badan dengan peratus lemak badan.Penyelidik juga ingin melihat korelasi di antara tahap obesiti kanak-kanak dengan tahap kecergasankardiovaskular mereka. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian ini ialah peratusan lemak badanformula Boileau, Lohman dan Slaughter 1985 dan peratusan lemak badan Lohman, 1992 serta ujianBleep untuk menguji tahap kecergasan kardiovaskular kanak-kanak tersebut. Seramai 192 orangkanak-kanak perempuan sekolah rendah yang berumur 10 hingga 12 tahun di Zon Inanam dalam daerahKota Kinabalu. Kajian ini merupakan satu kajian yang menggunakan kaedah kajian kes terhadap kefahaman membacaprosa tradisional pelajar Tingkatan Satu di daerah Raub, Pahang. Sebanyak 200 orang pelajardigunakan sebagai sampel kajian yang berbeza dari segi jantina, bangsa, tempat tinggal, kemudahanmembaca, pencapaian Bahasa Melayu dalam Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) dan pendapatan ibubapa. This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using songs to listening comprehension.It focuses on the use of songs and recorded texts asan instrument to teach listening comprehension. This study tries to see whether using songs as aninstrument can help to improve students' listening comprehension. The participants were 116 GeneralEnglish students selected based on their SPM English paper results. These students were dividedinto two groups. Students from both groups were taught listening comprehension by using the twoinstruments respectively. Data collected revealed that the students had higher scores in thelistening to song activity as compared to listening to recorded text activity. This indicated thatstudents acquired more listening comprehension skills through exposure to songs. This study takes “Lao Zhuang’s Philosophy of Education” as the core of discussion, and tries to analyze the pedagogical research methodology of traditional Chinese thought, as well as to clarify the boundaries between the “study of history of education” and the “study of philosophy of education” in the study of traditional Chinese thought in education. It is found that there are two types of Lao-Zhuang's research results related to the theme of education research.
