Tahap pengetahuan dan persepsi pelajar sekolah menengah terhadap i-Think di daerah Merlimau, Melaka

Tujuan kajian ini dilaksanakan adalah untuk mengenal pasti tahap pengetahuan dan persepsi pelajar serta perbandingan gender terhadap i-Think di daerah Merlimau, Melaka. Reka bentuk kajian tinjauan ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan soal selidik berstruktur menggunakan Skala Likert lima mata yang telah diubah suai dari kajian lepas. Responden yang dipilih melalui persampelan rawak mudah melibatkan 343 orang pelajar tingkatan satu, dua dan empat. Analisis deskriptif dijalankan bagi mencari nilai min dan peratus, manakala analisis inferensi ditadbir menggunakan korelasi Pearson, ANOVA, Ujian Individu (t-test) dan post-hoc bagi menentukan hubungan pengetahuan dan persepsi terhadap i-Think. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa pelajar tingkatan empat mempunyai tahap pengetahuan yang paling tinggi iaitu 83.72% (cemerlang) diikuti pelajar tingkatan dua dan satu dengan masing-masing pada nilai 82.46% (cemerlang) dan 79.49% (baik). The development of a decision matrix for selecting university research assistants in engineering and information technology fields using multi criteria analysis

Selecting suitable students as research assistants is important to improve their research skills and to reduce the cost of research projects. As such, this study sets out to develop a general decision matrix to determine the most appropriate criteria for evaluating and selecting qualified students as research assistants for research funded by university grants. In addition, the study attempts to explore the quality of such research assistants and the challenges facing supervisors in selecting the right candidates. In this study, a questionnaire consisting of 47 criteria adopted from a literature survey was administered to 23 experts at two Iraqi universities taken as a case study to identify the appropriate skills that research assistants should possess before they could be considered for recruitment. Professional Development (PD) programs for Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers’ foster higher  teaching quality and learning of children when sustained, meet the objectives and mission of  education. This qualitative study sought to identify the dimensions and domains of the Framework  for Sustainable Professional Development (FSPD) of ECE Teachers. This is to address the new  standards and policies for teacher quality that inform Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in  the Philippines and respond to the global demands. Sources of data included CPD frameworks of five  countries, two Philippines’ standards and policies related to CPD, two CPD program observations,  multiple CPD documents, and interviews. Remediating reticence in oral participation among TESL students in EAP classrooms

The purpose of this study was to examine a remedial course to alleviate reticence in oral  participation among TESL (Teaching of English as a Second Language) students in EAP (English for  Academic Purposes) classrooms. Adopting a multiphase mixed- method research design, this study was  implemented in four phases: (I) identification of reticent students, (II) needs assessment, (III)  remedial course development, and (IV) course implementation and evaluation. Data were collected  through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions and classroom  observations. 9 EAP instructors and 144 TESL students from a university involved in Phase I and  Phase II of the study. For the remediation, an intact group of 31 TESL students participated in the  remedial course. Pembinaan dan kesan modul K5FN bagi topik kadar tindak balas terhadap pelajar sekolah menengah di Palembang

Kajian bertujuan membina dan menilai kesan modul pembelajaran berasaskan teori konstruktivisme menggunakan model instruksional Lima Fasa Needham (K5FN) bagi topik kadar tindak balas, berdasarkan kurikulum kimia kebangsaan Indonesia. Kajian ini juga mengenal pasti kesan modul K5FN terhadap pencapaian akademik, sikap saintifik dan minat pelajar. Selain itu, kajian juga meneliti persepsi pelajar tentang modul K5FN sebagai sebuah bahan bantu mengajar. Modul K5FN dibina berdasarkan gabungan model instruksional Rowntree-Tessmer. Kesan modul ini diuji menerusi kajian eksperimen kuasi. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada ujian pra dan pasca, soal selidik sikap saintifik, minat, persepsi dan satu protokol temu bual. Sejumlah 189 pelajar tingkatan sebelas dipilih secara rawak daripada tiga buah sekolah menengah di Palembang. Effects of happy emotion during learning on the performances in addition and subtraction among grade 1 Filipino pupils

The aim of the study was to determine the effects of ‘happy’ emotions during learning on the performances of addition and subtraction among grade 1 Filipino pupils. Specifically, the study sought to determine if ‘happy’ emotion induced by background music, colorful materials or a combination of the two could improve the performance of grade 1 Filipino pupils in addition and subtraction. Teaching aids were developed utilizing ‘happy’ emotion through Filipino children’s music as background, colorful materials or a combination of the two. A quasi-experiment was conducted with 4 groups (music group, n=83; color group, n=80; combination of music & color group, n=87 and control group, n=70) from two schools in Manila. The control group was taught the same lessons without the teaching aids. Ten Filipino children’s music were selected to be background music. Development and implementation of kwartalino financial education program and its effect on kindergarten learners

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a financial education program and determine its effect on kindergartens’ financial literacy. Development of the Kwartalino Financial Education Program involved adaptation of the ADDIE model. Purposive sampling was used in the first phase of the program development and consisted of six kindergarten teachers and five experts. Interview with teachers revealed essential components of the program like appropriate learning activities, relevant instructional materials, and active parent involvement. Data from comparative analysis and financial education standards checklist show appropriate financial lessons for kindergarten children. Experts confirmed the program’s content validity.
