2021 Article | A BRIEF REVIEW ON MATERIALS USED IN CONTROLLED-RELEASE FERTILISER FORMULATIONS Azlan Kamari The excessive use of fertiliser and uncontrolled-release of nutrient into soil environment have caused a significant eutrophication issue and groundwater contamination. These scenarios have necessitated the development of eco-friendly controlled-release fertilisers (CRF5) for agricultural purposes. In recent years. several materials have been developed and tested to control the release of nutrients particularly in agricultural soils. Although, a number of controlled -release fertilisers have shown a great potential to sustain nutrients release, their performance is greatly influenced by the type of soil, plant species and climate. This review focuses on the development of controlled -release fertilisers using different starting materials or precursors. The technique of synthesis, the rate of nutrients release. the characteristics and drawbacks of controlled -release fertilisers developed have also been highlighted in this review. This review is beneficial to scientists in the field of ..... 1381 hits
2021 Article | Multi-perspectives systematic review on the applications of sentiment analysis for vaccine hesitancy Abdullah Hussein Abdullah Al-Amoodi A substantial impediment to widespread Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination is vaccine hesitancy. Many researchers across scientific disciplines have presented countless studies in favor of COVID-19 vaccination, but misinformation on social media could hinder vaccination efforts and increase vaccine hesitancy. Nevertheless, studying people's perceptions on social media to understand their sentiment presents a powerful medium for researchers to identify the causes of vaccine hesitancy and therefore develop appropriate public health messages and interventions. To the best of the authors' knowledge, previous studies have presented vaccine hesitancy in specific cases or within one scientific discipline (i.e., social, medical, and technological). No previous study has presented findings via sentiment analysis for multiple scientific disciplines as follows: (1) social, (2) medical, public health, and (3) technology sciences. Therefore, this research aimed to review and analyze articles..... 1254 hits
2021 Article | Enabling FAIR use of Ethnomusicology Data - Through Distributed Repositories, Linked Data and Music Information Retrieval Alex Hofmann ABSTRACT: Recordings of musical practices are kept in various public institutions and private depositories around the world. They constitute valuable data for ethnomusicological research and are substantial for the world’s musical heritage. At the moment, there are no commonly used systems and standards for organizing, describing or categorizing these data, which makes their use difficult. In this paper, we discuss the required steps to make them findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR), and outline action items to reach these goals. We show solutions that help researchers to manage their data over the whole research lifecycle and discuss the benefits of combining technologies from information science, music information retrieval, and linked data, with the aim of giving incentives for the ethnomusicology research community to actively participate in these developments in the future... 982 hits

2021 Article | A general framework for selecting appropriate criteria of student as research assistant using fuzzy delphi method Bahbibi Rahmatullah This research aims to build a general framework for choosing the most appropriate set of criteria for recruiting student as a research assistant in a university research project. University researchers could benefit from such a framework because it could optimize the costs of research while also enhancing students research skills. In the same time, it is also essential that the quality of research ought to measure up to the grants provided by the university. Nevertheless, it is a challenging problem for many research supervisors in the selection of qualified research assistants. In this paper, we attempted to resolve this problem by building a general framework for selecting the appropriate criteria in the evaluation of student performance. We explored earlier studies on the proposed evaluation criteria of the research assistant and identified 47 most impactful criteria criteria. We obtained experts in engineering and information technology fields from two universities to answer questi..... 1453 hits

2021 Article | Functional properties of kenaf bast fibre anhydride modification enhancement with bionanocarbon in polymer nanobiocomposites Suriani Abu Bakar The miscibility between hydrophilic biofibre and hydrophobic matrix has been a challenge in developing polymer biocomposite. This study investigated the anhydride modification effect of propionic and succinic anhydrides on Kenaf fibre’s functional properties in vinyl ester bionanocomposites. Bionanocarbon from oil palm shell agricultural wastes enhanced nanofiller properties in the fibre-matrix interface via the resin transfer moulding technique. The succinylated fibre with the addition of the nanofiller in vinyl ester provided great improvement of the tensile, flexural, and impact strengths of 92.47 ± 1.19 MPa, 108.34 ± 1.40 MPa, and 8.94 ± 0.12 kJ m−2, respectively than the propionylated fibre. The physical, morphological, chemical structural, and thermal properties of bionanocomposites containing 3% bionanocarbon loading showed better enhancement properties. This enhancement was associated with the effect of the anhydride modification and the nanofiller’s homogeneity in bio..... 1242 hits
