| 7931 | 2019 Article | The acceptance factors and effectiveness of MOOC in the blended learning of computer architecture and organization course Salman Firdaus Sidek Purpose of the study: This study examined the effectiveness of MOOC in the blended learning of Computer Architecture and Organization course based on the integration of online learning using MOOC and face-to-face learning. Specifically, the aim of the study was to identify factors that could influence student acceptance of MOOC in terms of immersion (IM) and intention to use (BIU) based on the HMSAM. Methodology: Quantitative approach through pre-test/post-test control group design was implemented in this study. Simple random sampling was carried out to recruit the study sample comprising 168 undergraduates from a population of 298 students. Pearson correlation analysis, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were performed on the survey data collected using online questionnaire. | 7933 | 2019 Article | Re-visiting the drivers for increasing external debt Ibrahim Mohammed Adamu This paper investigates the drives for increasing external debt in an open economy Nigeria over the period 1970 to 2017 using general to specific approach (GETS) approach (Hendry, 1995). The Johansen cointegration test confirms that variables have long run relationship. The empirical results for both long run and short run estimates indicate oil price, domestic savings and fiscal deficits play a significant role in increasing external debt in Nigeria. The study also found evidence that the dummy variables for exchange rate and debt relief also accelerate the growth of external. This finding indicates that, after the multilateral debt relief between 2005 and 2006, fresh loans are still coming to Nigeria. To this end, Nigeria should focus on investment in real sectors especially in agriculture and manufacturing to increase export performance. While many economists regard it as a global watershed, Indonesia was among the isolated few that emerged relatively unscathed. However it would be erroneous to assume that all of its economic sectors enjoyed the same fortune. A study was conducted to determine the most significant economic event for Indonesia’s public listed housing developers in the years leading up to, and after the GFC. Panel data regression analysis was conducted on the financial data of the sampled companies. The analysis shows that the GFC of 2008 was not the most significant event for the study period for housing market players, nor was it the previous year when housing investor confidence was shaken. The construction of a test based on multiple representation approaches is needed for measuring the 21st century thinking skills. This study aims to construct and validate a standardized test to measure students’ analytical thinking and chemical representation ability in rate of reaction topic. The test captures four aspects on analytical thinking and four levels of multiple representations (macroscopic, sub-microscopic, symbolic and mathematic). A group of experts confirmed the construct and face validity of the Test of Analytical Thinking based on Multiple Representation (TAT-MR) with 32 items.
