Attentive fine-tuning of transformers for translation of low-resourced languages @LoResMT 2021
Karthik Puranik
This paper reports the Machine Translation (MT) systems submitted by the IIITT team for the English?Marathi and English-Irish language pairs LoResMT 2021 shared task. The task focuses on getting exceptional translations for rather low-resourced languages like Irish and Marathi. We fine-tune IndicTrans, a pretrained multilingual NMT model for English?Marathi, using external parallel corpus as input for additional training. We have used a pretrained Helsinki-NLP Opus MT English-Irish model for the latter language pair. Our approaches yield relatively promising results on the BLEU metrics. Under the team name IIITT, our systems ranked 1, 1, and 2 in English?Marathi, Irish?English, and English?Irish respectively. The codes for our systems are published. ? 2021 Proceedings of the 4th Workshop on Technologies for Machine Translation of Low-Resource Languages, LoResMT 2021. All rights reserved...

Association between nutrition knowledge and nutrition practice among Malaysian adolescent handball athletes
Normah Jusoh
Introduction: Previous literature suggests that good nutrition knowledge does not necessarily translate into desired eating behaviours among adolescent athletes, which may affect their sports performance. The purposes of the study were twofold, which were to examine nutrition knowledge and practice between the sexes, and to evaluate the magnitude of relationship between nutrition knowledge and practice among adolescent handball athletes in Malaysia. Methods: Three hundred and twelve male and female adolescent handball players competing in a national level competition voluntarily participated in this study. The participants were asked to complete a questionnaire which consisted of items on their demographic information and about their nutrition knowledge and eating practices. Independent t-test and Pearson?s correlation were used to compare nutrition knowledge and practice between the sexes and to describe the relationship between variables, respectively. Results: The results showed tha.....

Assessment of toxic effect of centella asiatica extract and its application as natural preservative in fresh-cut mango, pear and cabbage
Suzita Ramli
The study determined the toxicity and Centella asiatica extract?s efficiency as food preservative in fresh-cut fruits and vegetables (FCFV) during room temperature displayed (RTD; 221?) and chilled storage (CS; 40.5?). In toxic assessment, the LC50 extract was 597.72mg/ml, indicating as nontoxic to consume. Listeria monocytogenes (6.40 log CFU/ml), Staphylococcus aureus (6.46 log CFU/ml), and Salmonella Typhimurium (6.92 log CFU/ml) were respectively inoculated in mango, pear, and cabbage. The survived population of bacteria varied from 4.87 to 6.87 log CFU/g (RTD-FCFV) and 3.46 to 4.92 log CFU/g (CS-FCFV). This indicates that the extract had no effects on pathogenic bacteria at all during RTD. Browning indexes in extract-treated pear (RTD: 7.15; CS: 16.20), mango (RTD: 9.40; CS: 16.39), and cabbage (RTD: 4.72; CS: 3.96) were recorded. In short, chilling and prolonged extract-contact periods could effectively retard browning of FCFV but less effective for bacteria .....

ARabic-Kafa: design and development of educational material for Arabic vocabulary with augmented reality technology
Mohammad Taufiq Abdul Ghani
This research focuses on the production and creation of educational materials for Arabic vocabulary learning using Augmented Reality Technology, namely ARabic-Kafa, which can support both teachers and students. The Marker Based Tracking tool is used in this Augmented Reality application. This method was employed because it can read objects and then display 3-dimensional (3D) virtual objects. The first step in resolving this issue is to create animations through the blender application, choose the image to be utilised as a Marker, and finally, export it to Vuforia to form an Augmented Reality app. The mobile app of Augmented Reality-based educational media is the product of this research. A series of testing were employed and a minimum distance for displaying a 3D object is 10 cm, and the minimum angle 30 to 90 to view 3D objects. The rotation marker's output effectively shows every aspect of the 3D object. Furthermore, the audio pronunciations can be played effortlessly. ? 2021 C.....

Applying alternative method to evaluate online problem-solving skill inventory (OPSI) using Rasch model analysis
Noor Hidayah Che Lah
The aim of the study was to evaluate the extended version of the Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI) via an online learning setting known as the Online Problem-Solving Inventory (OPSI) through the lens of Rasch Model analysis. To date, there is no extended version of the PSI for online settings even though many researchers have used it; thus, this study validated the OPSI taking into account evidence based on Rasch model analysis. Firstly, the OPSI employed content validation by three experts. The result of the percent agreement showed that the overall percent agreement of the OPSI is 95.05% which consists of six constructs: impulsive style, reflective style, problem-solving confidence, avoidance style, monitoring, and planfulness. Next, eight measurement properties of Rasch model analysis were employed with the OPSI among 49 undergraduate students in Malaysia. The results revealed that 19 respondents needed to be dropped according to Rasch model analysis. Next, retained 30 respondents con.....
