Effectiveness practice teaching higher order thinking skills (Hots) in subject Islamic education primary school

This study aims to identify the initial effectiveness of teaching primary school teachers of Islamic education based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The study involved Perak but this study is an initial survey prior to a broader study on the run. Component higher-order thinking such as skill appeal vary, skills collating sequence, skills forecasting, skills definition and skills to create the analogy that in view of the three main components of initial teacher teaching the lesson planning, setting teaching objectives and induction set is selected as the conceptual framework. This study used a descriptive analysis (through a questionnaire). All of this data collection instrument developed by the researcher with the modification of the instrument KBAT Ministry of Education and experts involved and its contents confirmed by a reference panel of experts. Development, validity and reliability of Depression Level Inventory (DLI)

The purpose of this study is to build, test the content validity and reliability of Depression Level Inventory (DLI). DLI is built based on the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) introduced by Aaron T. Beck in 1964. DLI contains 21 negative items divided into 3 sub-scales and each sub-scale contains of 7 items. These three sub-scales are Sub-Scale 1: Depression Thinking, Sub Scale 2: Depression Emotions and Sub-Scale 3: Depression Behavior. The content validity of DLI is evaluated by 12 expert panels comprising psychologists, counseling, education and human resource management. Reliability analysis consisted of 45 respondents aged 18-21. The overall validity of DLI was high at 0.873 (87.3%). The overall reliability value was .838. As such, this study has produced an DLI questionnaire that has good validity and reliability and is useful to use in the field of psychology, guidance and counseling in Malaysia. Development, validation and reliability of Schizophrenia Stage Inventory (SSI)

This study aimed to develop, validate the content and reliability of the Schizophrenia Stage Inventory (SSI). SSI is built based on the integration of the symptoms of Schizophrenia which have been described by the Ministry of Health Malaysia as mental disorders, perceptual disorders and behavioral disorders. Overall, SSI has 21 items divided into Sub Scale 1: Disturbing Thinking (7 items), Sub Scale 2: Perceptual Disorder (7 items), and Sub Scale 3:Behavior Disruption (7 items). The SSI was given to twelve expert’s panel which consists of six member of the academics and six lecturers of Guidance and Counseling Courses. The SSI has good content validity for overall of 8.76, while the validity of the content based on the Mindset Disorders sub-scale is 8.80, the Perception Disorders sub-scale is 8.70, and the Behavioral Disorders sub-scale is 8.80.   The high percentage of students who are still struggling with the English language is worrisome, even though there are many well-planned strategies and education policies that are developed to resolve this problem. It is a universal belief that learning a foreign language at a young age through reading plays an important role. Accordingly, the aim of this research is to design, develop and evaluate an interactive storybook application combined with suitable multimedia elements and features to encourage children to read. The interactive storybook entitled 'Jack and the Dirty Smelly Beast' was developed using Instructional System Design (ISD) and Rapid Prototyping model. The advertising industry has been moving toward digital advertising with the help of internet penetration across the world. Importantly, consumers today are exposed to digital advertising with social media advertising becoming one of the most vital channels to get in touch with the consumers. However, consumer trust in social media is reported to be low although trust is not a static concept but changes over time. Hence, this research aimed to study the relationship between social media advertising and consumer perceived trustworthiness among social media users in Malaysia. Consumers’ perceived trustworthiness is examined through five dimensions of social media advertising namely personalization, electronic word-of-mouth, interactivity, informativeness, and trendiness. This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a kindergarten-based prevention on childhood obesity among preschool children. The prevention applies motivational game-based learning and behaviour change theories during design. Preschool children are the main target group for this study because preschool childhood obesity has been found correlated to obesity in later years of childhood, thus preventing and treating preschool obesity are particularly important. There have been few prevention and interventions that have targeted game-based strategies in the kindergarten to promote health outcomes in preschool children and especially in Asian countries. Decision making power in domestic sphere: participation of professional Indian women in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor

In most of the societies, the decision making power of women is limited due to gender perspectives and cultural practices. Similarly in Indian society, patriarchy ideology is very common in which men are the main breadwinners and decision-makers of the family but this belief is gradually changing. Thus, this study aims to explore the participation of professional Indian women in the decision making power in the family on the aspect of household matters. Fifteen Indian women, who work in different professional sectors and live in Kuala Lumpur and the Selangor area, were selected for this study. A qualitative approach using one to one in-depth interview method was used to gather the primary data. This paper discusses critical success factors involved in developing Authentic Learning Teacher Competency Model based on Malaysian education system. Authentic learning is an approach that facilitates learners’ acquisition of knowledge by exposing them to real-world experiences. Implementing authentic learning approach requires educators to carry out a learning design that connect what learners are taught in school to real-world issues, problems and applications. Learning taught through this way must be able to mirror the complexities and ambiguities of real-life.
