Leaner's motivation and attitudes have great impact on the foreign language learning. The objective of this study was to determine the motivation and attitudes of the students towards learning foreign languages among Malaysian students in Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). This study measured the attitudes through the motivation of students on the basis of Gardner's SocioEducational Model (1985). In order to reveal the co-relation between motivation and attitudes of language learners and the foreign language learning, the study designs a set of questionnaire to investigate the student's learning attitude and motivation towards learning process of all the three languages involved (Spanish, German and Japanese). A total of 90 respondents involved in this study comprising of 30 Spanish, 30 German and 30 Japanese language students. The quality of human capital is indispensable for economic growth and sustainability. The developed nations have shown evidence of a positive relationship between education and economic development. In all respects, a better understanding of economics among citizens has led to more efficiency in implementing economic policies. In this paper, we explore a possible relationship between economic literacy and policy understanding. Policy knowledge, interest and explanation are measured through policy understanding. This study used the students’ teachers as a sample and found that economic literacy was below 50 per cent. Meanwhile, the level of policy understanding was moderate. Interestingly, our findings showed that economic literacy is not strongly associated with economic policy understanding. Policy interest appeared as an important element for policy understanding among the sample. This article discussed on type of plants of herb origin that has become motif inspiration for Malay carver. This research gave specialattention on motif of teratai, bakawali and bayam peraksi  highlighted on decorations of gunungan (cosmic mountain) mihrab (niche) andmimbar (pulpit) in Tanah Melayu (Malaya). The subject of the research focused on gunungan mihrab of Masjid Jamek Batu Uban (1734) and Masjid Kampung Tuan (1830) as well as gunungan mimbar Masjid Kampung Laut (circa 1700), Masjid Tengkera (1728) and Masjid Kampung Bukit Bayas (1827/1828). Diversity of identified stylized motif has not only highlight the exquisite decoration but indirectly uncover the secret of herbaceous plant in Malay World which possessed certain benefits. This article reported a simple survey on diploma students’ attitudes towards  science,  technology,  engineering,  and  mathematics  (STEM) objectively  to  get  an  initial  impression  of  students  taking  a  STEM-related diploma program. The targeted respondents were diploma students pursuing computer science programs in a Malaysian public university. A quantitative approach  using  a  quantitative  survey  was  used  in  which  data  were systematically  elicited  from  16  male  and  17  female  students  using  a questionnaire  containing  Likert-scale  items.  The  questionnaire  consists  of three  constructs:  attitude  toward  science,  attitude  toward  technology  and engineering,  and  attitude  toward  mathematics.  All  constructs  use  a  5-point Likert  scale  for  the  response  scale.  Descriptive  analysis  showed  that  the respondents’ attitude ranged between moderately to highly positive t.....

Pembinaan instrumen Pantun Berestetika (PB) merupakan satu inovasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Melayu di sekolah kebangsaan dan juga di sekolah jenis kebangsaan. Pembinaan PB diuji di sekolah untuk mendapatkan maklum balas guru dan murid terhadap penggunaannya. Kertas kerja ini memfokuskan maklum balas guru dan murid terhadap penggunaan instrumen pantun berestetika. Reka bentuk kajian ini berbentuk kualitatif dengan menggunakan kaedah kajian lapangan dan analisis dokumen di empat buah sekolah. Peserta kajian terdiri daripada empat orang guru dan 60 orang murid di sekolah rendah. Pemilihan peserta kajian secara rawak mudah. Basically, shariah risk management in the takaful industry is responsible to those specialize in shariah studies (fiqh and usul, fiqh muamalat) namely Shariah Committee (SC) of Takaful Operator and Internal Shariah Department of Takaful Operator. Nonetheless, non-shariah staff, other than SC and Internal Shariah Department of Takaful Operators, also play an important role in managing shariah risk exposures in the operations of Takaful Operator. According to section 29 (3) Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA 2013) which states that the Chief Executive Officer and Officer including any of the staff of the Takaful Operator are responsible for ensuring shariah compliance in the operation of Islamic financial institutions. We investigated bird species richness and feeding guilds in two contrasting habitat types i.e. forest and developed areas in Muallim district of Perak, Peninsular Malaysia. Field surveys were conducted by using point-count observation along transects and mist-netting methods to determine the presence of bird species in the forest and developed areas. There were 28 species of birds from 23 families found in these habitats, where 13 species were found in forest and 15 species in the developed areas. The species richness was similar between forest and urbanized habitats. Forest birds were mainly frugivores and frugivore-insectivores whereas those from developed areas were insectivore-granivores and insectivores. Insects are important food resources in both habitats. Our results suggest that the availability of food resources in a locality may partly influence the community structure of Avifauna where conversion of forest into developed areas may induce shifts in the distribution of feedin.....

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti kesan penggunaan aplikasi Kahoot dalam mengukur pencapaian murid bagi mata pelajaran Sejarah Tingkatan 1. Objektif kajian ini adalah i) membangunkan alat pengujian pencapaian menggunakan aplikasi Kahoot untuk mata pelajaran Sejarah; dan ii) mengenal pasti perbezaan penggunaan aplikasi Kahoot dan ujian bertulis dalam mengukur pencapaian murid. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah berbentuk kuantitatif terhadap 30 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada murid Tingkatan 1 di sebuah sekolah di Melaka. Kajian mengapliksikan kaedah tinjauan dengan menggunakan soal selidik dan eksperimen menggunakan set ujian untuk melihat kesan pencapaian murid terhadap mata pelajaran Sejarah dengan menggunakan dua alat pengujian yang berbeza. Gamification in higher education is a new way in the learning environment for the 21st century. It has become an effective pedagogical tool to increase students’ involvement through immediate feedback on learning activities that allow them to reflect on what they are learning.
