2019 Article | Using The ADDIE Model to develop green skills teaching module Arasinah Kamis This article discusses the development process of a module based on ADDIE Development Model. Teaching module is one of the elements that can help in the teaching and facilitating process for a subject. Therefore, in designing a module, a development model that contains thorough and systematic phases and processes is crucial. The aim of this article is to discuss the use of ADDIE development model in the development phase of Green Skills (Gs) teaching module for the Design and Technology (D&T) subject at primary schools. This is because ADDIE model is among the design models that are systematic and effective, comprising five phases which are analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The use of ADDIE model is suitable in developing the Green Skills teaching module because it is systematic and complete as it has five sufficient steps so that the results meet the desired objectives and makes the teaching and facilitating process more effective. .. 2761 hits

2019 Article | The effectiveness of bar model to enhance HOTs in mathematics for year 4 pupils Marzita Puteh This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using Bar Model in Mathematics problem solving questions involving Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs). This study involved 37 pupils from Year 4 class at SK Bukit Bandaraya. This study focusses on to examine the effectiveness using Bar Model by converting the HOTs problem solving questions to visual by drawing bar model. This is a quasiexperimental research and the effectiveness of this method will be analyse through the findings from pre-test and post-test. Discussion of the findings of this study is based on pupil’s per-test and post-test. The results of this study analysed by using SPSS version 22 for pre-test and post-test results. The results of the pre-test and post-test show differences in average mean scores of 28.51 to 42.46. This finding shows that the Bar Model method was effective for the pupils that can improve pupils understanding in order to answer HOTS problem solving questions... 1437 hits
2019 Article | The effectiveness of bar model fraction kit in solving higher order thinking skills mathematics word problems Lavina Nair Madawan Nair This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Bar Model Fraction Kit based on students' achievement in answering Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) word problems. A total of 48 Year 5 students from Batang Padang District, Perak were involved in a quasi-experiment using pre-test and post-test. The students were divided into a control group and a treatment group. The control group(n=23) uses the teaching and learning process (TnL) with the conventional method, while the treatment group (n=25) runs the TnL using the Bar Model Fraction Kit. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney Test. The results indicated that during post-test, students who used Bar Model Fraction Kit showed significant improvement in their HOTS level (p=0.000). In conclusion, the students who undergone TnL using Bar Model Fraction Kit performed better than the students in the conventional group. Bar Model Fraction Kit has effectively improved the performance of students in answering HOTS word problems involving a..... 1572 hits
2019 Article | Knowledge construction process in open learning system among technical and vocational education and training (TVET) practitioners Mohd Hishamuddin Abdul Rahman Assessment is a method to determine the level of learning and the process of documenting knowledge, attitudes, skills and beliefs. Through this literacy assessment, instructor will have an opportunity to apply relevant strategies and procedures that were considered relevant during their teaching and learning process. However, most of us were familiar with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based modes of delivery but less familiar with the needs and challenges face in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. Thus, this study was conducted to investigate whether the process of knowledge construction in an open learning system can assist TVET practitioners in performing tasks that needed to be completed as an important element in assessment in one of their class subject. Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) is based on the pedagogical process of observation where these TVET practitioners will learn progressively through active group interacti..... 1130 hits
2019 Article | The effect of augmented reality on spatial visualization ability of elementary school student Mohd Hishamuddin Abdul Rahman The invention of Augmented Reality (AR) has provided a platform for individuals to see virtual and real objects simultaneously in a real-life setting. As compared to other technologies being implemented in education setting, it may contribute a new method to educate. This study investigated the possible effect of AR technology on students’ spatial visualization ability. ARScience Magic Book Learning System (AR-SMB) is a learning tool based on the AR technology which was developed in this study to facilitate students in learning science concept, hence enhancing their spatial visualization ability. The type of data collection methodology used is the quantitative approach in which pre-test and post-test design were implemented and the participant comprised of 34 fifth-grade students. According to the results, it was found that the scores of the Mental Rotation Test (MRT) posttest were significantly greater than the pre-test, thus AR technology can be considered to be beneficial in enhan..... 1507 hits
