Active extrapolation of dimsims in nordsieck representation
Annie Gorgey
Diagonally implicit multistage integration methods (DIMSIMs) are widely utilized in finding the solution to any problems in the subject of ordinary differential equations. These methods are selected from the general linear methods, which is considerable potential for efficient implementations. The extrapolation is derived from the stability of the explicit Runge-Kutta methods. In this paper, the combination of DIMSIMs with Richardson extrapolation of different orders shows that numerical solutions give higher accuracy when the extrapolation is applied with the base method. 2023 Penerbit UTM Press...

Micromorphological analyses of stomata and epidermal cell among different species in the genus Premna L. (Lamiaceae)
Nor Nafizah Mohd Noor
The genus Premna in Lamiaceae family was categorized into two groups namely P. serratifolia-group and P. trichostoma-group by de Kok in 2013. The division was based on three distinct morphological characters which are twigs, calyx and fruit. This group category lacks of anatomical and micromorphological evidence and solely based on those morphological characters. Therefore, in this study, anatomical and micromorphological characters were analysed on six Premna species (P. interrupta, P. serratifolia, P. trichostoma, P. tomentosa, P. parasitica and P. odorata) from few localities in Peninsular Malaysia. They were investigated to determine the size of stomata and some epidermal characters among the species members to provide some evidence towards the division. The methods involved in this research were epidermal peel preparation and field emission microscopy (FESEM) technique. The stomata were observed under the microscope and also photographed at different magnifications. Based on the o.....

Effect of alumina and thiol\s roles for Hg2+ adsorption in wastewater a short review
Aisyah Mohamad Sharif
The issue of mercury (Hg2+) existing in water supplies has been brought up since it has an impact on both people and the environment. The ideal method for removing Hg2+ is adsorption since it is easy to use, highly effective, and economical. Alumina composite and thiols are two probable substances that have been used to remove Hg2+ from wastewater, but it is still unclear how these substances work when it comes to adsorbing the metal. In order to observe the present method of removing Hg2+ from wastewater, this review has been undertaken. This study examined the characteristics, processes, and qualities of two different types of adsorbents: alumina and thiol. There are numerous phases of alumina, and each has distinct properties. The characteristics of alumina at various temperatures, levels of porosity, and surface area, as well as its primary identification as a Hg2+ adsorbent by the bonding of Al-Hg in XPS, XRD, and TEM, are described. Additionally, through imaging and bonding confi.....

The effects of the communicative approach and the use of information technology on students motivation and achievement in Indonesian language learning
Wong, Kung Tech
This study aimed to explain the structural influence of the implementation of the communicative approach and the use of information technology in Indonesian language learning on students motivation and learning achievement. This research was conducted in Blitar, Indonesia, and 186 students were chosen as the samples. An explanatory research design was used in this research. The data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling. The results of the analysis showed that there was a direct effect of the communication approach and the use of information technology on students learning motivation. There was a significant direct effect of students learning motivation on students achievement in the Indonesian language class. The communicative approach had an indirect effect on students achievement and showed a stronger coefficient of the effect on learning motivation compared to the use .....

Developing forecasting model for future pandemic applications based on COVID-19 data 2020-2022
Nurul Hila Zainuddin
Improving forecasting particularly time series forecasting accuracy, efficiency and precisely become crucial for the authorities to forecast, monitor, and prevent the COVID-19 cases so that its spread can be controlled more effectively. However, the results obtained from prediction models are inaccurate, imprecise as well as inefficient due to linear and non-linear patterns exist in the data set, respectively. Therefore, to produce more accurate and efficient COVID-19 prediction value that is closer to the true COVID-19 value, a hybrid approach has been implemented. Thus, aims of this study is (1) to propose a hybrid ARIMA-SVM model to produce better forecasting results. (2) to investigate in terms of the performance of the proposed models and percentage improvement against ARIMA and SVM models. statistical measurements such as MSE, RMSE, MAE, and MAPE then conducted to verify that the proposed models are better than ARIMA and SVM models. Empirical results with three real datasets of w.....

Systematic literature review: effectiveness of a teaching aid based on the achievement and interest of students in the field of measurement and geometry
Shazlyn Milleana Shaharudin
The purpose of this systematic literature review (SLR) is to identify: (a) the topic of the study, (b) the research methods used, and (c) the results of research on Mathematics education in Malaysia. This study discusses the use of teaching aid (TA) in the field of syllabus and geometry for Form 2 students. The use of TA is considered highly successful and relevant for educators to improve the quality of the teachers instructions and students understanding. Therefore, using the rules of optional reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis (PRISMA) by Moher et al. (2015), a review system was carried out to determine the appropriate strategies and variables for the field. Four stages constitute the PRISMA paradigm used in this study: identification, screening, qualification, and admission. Using criteria opted by researchers from multiple searches, including Google Scholar, Researchgate, Scopus, and Emerald, over 20 papers were identified for additional investigation. The dat.....

Development of educational-based psychosocial resilience model guidelines for student survival in new normative routines
Abd Rahim Mohd Shariff
This study aims to review student-athletes resilience power, coping power, and protective power in surviving the new norm routine in Malaysia. Aspects of the resilience dimension include self-confidence, self-discipline, self-ability, self-control, and self-determination. In addition, this study also aims to identify whether there are differences in resilience and coping dimensions based on some demographic factors. Both aspects of the survey, namely the level of resilience and coping, identify this difference obtained from data collected through questionnaires. The study sample consisted of school students in Malaysia. A total of 190 study samples were randomly selected. This study uses a quantitative approach. The findings of the study through exploratory analysis using principal component analysis (PCA) revealed the structure of four factors: self-confidence, self-discipline, self-ability, and self-control. Structural equation modeling (SEM) showed that the scale items formed four f.....

Character values of elementary school education from the perspective of local wisdom of sundanese culture
Mohd Razimi Husin
Global culture is currently still growing and developing massively in countries all over the world. It allegedly causes more harm to develop countries, including Indonesia. It is feared that Indonesia will increasingly lose its national identity, which should be maintained. To date, some Indonesians think that values from foreign countries are the best, while local cultural values are outdated. This research aimed to assess the Sundanese cultural values as part of Indonesian culture to be used as a reference for developing indicators of achieving character education goals, especially for elementary school students. The method used was an exploratory method with an ethnographic approach. The stages of research were: 1) observing the socio-cultural activities of Naga Village community related to the cultivation of family educational values; 2) creating descriptive narratives in the context of cultivating parental educational values for their children in Naga Village community; and 3) ana.....
