Evaluation of organizational culture in companies for fostering a digital innovation using q-rung picture fuzzy based decision-making model
Abdullah Hussein Abdullah Al-Amoodi
Developing a comprehensive data-driven strategy for evaluating the organisational culture in companies to foster digital innovation involves a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. This needs to consider various organisational culture characteristics that influence digital innovation success, assign significance weights to each characteristic, and recognise that distinct organisational cultures may excel in different aspects necessitates the proper handling of data variations. Hence, to provide organisations seeking to align cultural practises with digital innovation objectives with valuable insights, this study aims to develop an MCDM model for evaluating and benchmarking organisational culture in companies to foster digital innovation. The benchmarking decision matrix is formulated based on the intersection of evaluation characteristics and a list of organisational culture aspects in companies. The MCDM model is developed in two phases. Firstly, a new weighting model, q-rung.....

Investigation of the impacts of climate change and rising temperature on food poisoning cases in Malaysia
Shazlyn Milleana Shaharudin
This study is an attempt to investigate climate-induced increases in morbidity rates of food poisoning cases. Monthly food poisoning cases, average monthly meteorological data, and population data from 2004 to 2014 were obtained from the Malaysian Ministry of Health, Malaysian Meteorological Department, and Department of Statistics Malaysia, respectively. Poisson generalised linear models were developed to assess the association between climatic parameters and the number of reported food poisoning cases. The findings revealed that the food poisoning incidence in Malaysia during the 11 years study period was 561 cases per 100 000 population for the whole country. Among the cases, females and the ethnic Malays most frequently experienced food poisoning with incidence rates of 313 cases per 100,000 and 438 cases per 100,000 population over the period of 11 years, respectively. Most of the cases occurred within the active age of 13 to 35 years old. Temperature gave a significant impact on .....

Investigating the predictive effects of depression and self-esteem on suicide ideation among Malaysia east coast undergraduate students
Azlina Abu Bakar @ Mohd
Today, suicide is a significant, urgent and serious issue in public health. Studies on suicide ideation in Malaysian young adults were rarely conducted for the public due to cultural and religious factors. Numerous studies on depression and suicide among young people in Malaysia have often been conducted in developed and high-population densities such as Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pulau Pinang, Sabah, and Sarawak. In contrast, states on the East Coast of Malaysia recorded fewer studies on suicide and depression by researchers. Thus, this study investigates the relationships and predictive effects of depression and self-esteem on suicide ideation among undergraduate students. Data were gathered from a sample of 439 (18.5% male; 81.5% female) undergraduate students aged 19-26 with an average age of 22 (SD=1.33) who completed measures on depression, self-esteem, suicide ideation and socio-demographic profiles. In addition to descriptive statistics, quantitative data employed correlation and .....

The application of computer-aided under-resourced language translation for Malay into Kadazandusun
Minah Sintian
A computer-aided language translation using a Machine translation (MT) is an application performed by computers (machines) that translates one natural language to another. There are many online language translation tools, but thus far none offers a sequence of text translations for the under-resourced Kadazandusun language. Although there are web-based and mobile applications of Kadazandusun dictionaries available, the systems do not translate more than one word. Hence, this paper aims to present the discussion of the preliminary translation of Malay to Kadazandusun. The basic word-to-word with dictionary alignment translation based on Direct Machine Translation (DMT) is selected to begin the exploration of the translation domain where DMT is one of the earliest translation methods which relies on the word-to-word approach (sequence-to-sequence model). This paper aims to investigate the under-resourced language and the task of translating from the Malay language to the Kadazandusun lan.....
