Preparing Malaysian pre-service teachers to teach students with autism using e-module ‘The Story of Khamdy

Despite increased awareness about autism, knowledge and skills to teach students with autism remains low among pre-service teachers globally. An e-module called ‘The Story of Khamdy®’ was developed to provide a means of introducing as many as 140 information and pedagogical strategies to teach students with ASD in inclusive environments. The entire module is presented through online platforms, via Facebook and Openlearning. Inspired by the pictorial narrative approach, each component in this module is specially designed to optimise the learning outcomes. This module, the first of its kind, delivers the content via pictorial narration, in which over 200 illustrations are presented sequentially for a systematic learning on the topics of identifying autism, early diagnosis and intervention, disputing the myths of autism, family and inclusion support, social communication strategies, differential instructions, preventing of bullying, and transition to puberty and adulthood. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti hubungan kepimpinan guru dan hubungannya dengan efikasi guru serta sokongan organisasi. Kajian ini menggunakan soal selidik dan ditadbir kepada guru-guru di sekolah menengah di Selangor. Seramai 348 responden yang dipilih secara rawak daripada 23,589 orang guru sekolah menengah di negeri Selangor. Teori Tindakan Kepimpinan Guru, Model Sfera Tindakan Kepimpinan Guru serta Teori Efikasi merupakan antara teori dan model yang mendasari kajian ini. Data dalam kajian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis faktor eksploratori (EFAEksploratory Factor Analysis), analisis faktor konfirmatori (CFA- Confirmatory factor analysis) dan Model Persamaan Struktural (SEM). The possibilities of nurturing creativity for students with learning disabilities (LD) are limitless. Providing access to students with LD to venture in the elements of creativity through traditional dance allows them the opportunity to improve their self-confidence, express their thoughts and ideas to others and the chance to receive feedback in order to continue improving themselves, their knowledge and skills. In some primary schools in Malaysia, traditional dance has been introduced as an element of music education and extracurricular activities in order to encourage creative learning and participation among students; however, it is found that there is a significant discrepancy in the levels of exposures and opportunities among students with special needs, specifically for indigenous students with LD. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk meninjau sejauh manakah tahap burnout dan tahap kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan guru-guru Pendidikan Jasmani sekolah rendah di daerah Kuala Langat. Kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan kepuasan kerja dan burnout. Sejumlah 78 orang responden secara pensampelan bertujuan dan berkelompok yang melibatkan guru-guru Pendidikan Jasmani sekolah rendah di daerah Kuala Langat, Selangor terlibat dalam kajian ini. Segala maklumat diperoleh dengan menggunakan satu set soal selidik. Data yang telah dikumpulkan diproses dengan menggunakan Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS ver 22.0). The use of adaptive technology among visually impaired students at Malaysian tertiary institutions

The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore, describe, and interpret the experiences of students at tertiary education with visual impairments in using adaptive technology particularly Digital Electronic Textbooks (DETB) with Screen Reading Programmes (SRP) to assist learning. This is a qualitative study which involves the methods of interview and observation. A total of six participants between the ages of 18 to 30 from tertiary institutions are selected. \Let\s Play the Alphabet\ kit increase special educations literacy skill in Bahasa Melayu

Many students with special needs (MBK) have literacy problems, especially in the subject of Bahasa Melayu and cause them to fail to achieve Mastery Level 3 Classroom Management (PBD). The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of teaching aids Main Kit Game Language Book Alphabet of the performance of special needs students in the subject of Bahasa Melayu. This study uses the ADDIE Model and Delphi techniques. This study involved 10 MBK with learning difficulties and 10 specialist teachers. The methods used in this qualitative -based study are interview method, observation method and survey. The instruments selected in this study were checklists, questionnaires, student satisfaction level test and KVKVK syllable comprehension test. Jerm program: an intervention to separation Anxiety among kindergarten pupils in Southern Philippines

Separation anxiety is very common and normal fear of being separated from parents. Anxieties are part of a child’s developmental milestone. When a child goes to school for the first time, mixed emotions are present. It might be exciting but fear is normal too. This study aimed to identify the separation anxiety level of Kindergarten Pupils of Sultan Kudarat, Philippines as well as the symptoms of separation anxiety in terms of cognitive, psychophysiological and behavioural conditions among kindergartens. The study employed a quasi-experimental research design to study the effectiveness of the JERM Program. Respondents were classified as controlled and experimental groups. Data showed that a number of kindergartens have separation anxiety in both the experimental and controlled group in pre assessment.
