| 5291 | 2021 Article | High frequency of low noise amplifier architecture for WiMAX application: a review Abu Bakar Ibrahim The low noise amplifier (LNA) circuit is exceptionally imperative as it promotes and initializes general execution performance and quality of the mobile communication system. LNA's design in radio frequency (R.F.) circuit requires the trade-off numerous imperative features' including gain, noise figure (N.F.), bandwidth, stability, sensitivity, power consumption, and complexity. Improvements to the LNA's overall performance should be made to fulfil the worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) specifications' prerequisites. The development of front-end receiver, particularly the LNA, is genuinely pivotal for long-distance communications up to 50 km for a particular system with particular requirements. The LNA architecture has recently been designed to concentrate on a single transistor, cascode, or cascade constrained in gain, bandwidth, and noise figure. ? 2021 Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. | 5293 | 2021 Article | Heart rate variability and muscle strength in young male adults with sedentary behaviour Juliana Norsham INTRODUCTION: Sedentary behaviour or physical inactivity has been relatively prevalent among young adults globally. Multiple studies pointed out that Malaysia has been listed as one of the Asian countries with high prevalence of inactivity. Objective: This study aimed to examine the heart rate variability (HRV) and muscle strength among young adults with sedentary behaviour in order to explore the early impact of this behaviour on their physiological and physical health. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This cross-sectional study involved 185 healthy male adults aged 18-25 years. Participants? height and body compositions were measured and their level of physical activities were obtained using Short Questionnaire to Assess Health (SQuASH). Those with less than 150 minutes per week of physical activity engagement were classified as sedentary. Their HRV was analysed as a determinant for early physiological change that was influenced by the sedentary behaviour. Muscle strength of upper and lower bo..... 1054 hits |
| 5294 | 2021 Article | Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using neem and collagen of fish scales as a reducing and stabilizer agents Mudhafar, Mustafa This study was conducted to synthesize and characterize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using a rapid green synthesis approach. Antibacterial properties of AgNPs were evaluated. Extract of Melia Dubia (Neem) and collagen produced from the fish scales were used as reducing and stabilizer agents respectively. Uv-Vis Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) were used to characterize the synthesized AgNPs. Evaluation of the synthesized AgNP's antibacterial activity was conducted, with Staphylococcus Aureus (S. aureus) as Gram-positive and Escherichia Coli (E. coli) as the negative bacteria. The peak of absorbance for the synthesized AgNPs was at 454 nm, indicating conformed AgNPs. SEM image showed semi-evenly distributed rod shapes. The EDX data revealed presence of the metallic silver. Meanwhile, FTIR analysis indicated presence of C2H2, C=O, N-H groups. DLS..... 934 hits |
| 5295 | 2021 Article | Graphene oxide deposition on neodymium doped zinc borotellurite glass surface: optical and polarizability study for future fiber optics Muhammad Noorazlan Abd Azis Neodymium oxide doped tellurite-based glass has been widely documented for potential uses in optoelectronics, but graphene oxide (GO)-coated tellurite-based glass has rarely been reported. In this work, we compare two sets of glass series which were GO-coated and uncoated tellurite-based glass series denoted as ZBTNd-GO and ZBTNd, respectively. The two sets of glasses were fabricated via melt-quenched process. A set of glass was coated with GO using low-cost spray coating method. The structural and morphological properties of the glass samples were investigated to confirm the type of structure in glass and formation of graphene oxide on glass surface. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern confirmed the amorphous structural arrangement in both sets of glass series. The morphological study proved the existence of GO layers on top of the ZBTNd-GO surface. The optical bandgap energy of ZBTNd-GO glass was found in the range of 3.253 eV?3.381 eV which was higher than ZBTNd glass. Meanwhile, th..... 870 hits |
| 5296 | 2021 Article | Graphene and zeolite as adsorbents in bar-micro-solid phase extraction of pharmaceutical compounds of diverse polarities Maizatul Najwa Jajuli A bar micro-solid phase (bar ?-SPE) extraction method using either graphene or zeolite or their mixtures as an adsorbent, coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (using a C1 column) was developed for the simultaneous determination of pharmaceutical compounds (metformin (MET), buformin (BUF), phenformin (PHEN) and propranolol (PROP)) of diverse polarity (log?P from -1.82 to 3.10). Parameters influencing the extraction, such as conditioning solvents, pH of the sample, sample volume, amount of adsorbent, stirring rate, time of extraction, type and volume of desorption solvent and time of desorption were investigated. Under the optimized conditions, the extraction method using graphene (extraction efficiency, % EE, ?6-15%) resulted in the least amount of extracted drugs. However, the use of zeolite and zeolite/graphene mixtures improves the % EE significantly, i.e. 30% for PHEN and 42% for PROP using zeolite; 22% for MET and 18% for BUF using the adsorbent mixture. | 5297 | 2021 Article | Governing cyber espionage threats via the integration of the risk society-cyber securitisation theory Wan Rosalili Wan Rosli In the last decade, virtual attacks in the form of cyber espionage has become more and more rampant. The commission of such crime is through state and non-state backed actors against government websites, public and private networks, individuals and also economic giants. Cyber espionage is seen as a developing crime due to the unlimited connectivity of these cybercriminals to cyberspace which translates it as a visible threat to national security. The risk of cyber espionage is more prevalent and viable as the cyberspace environment facilitates anonymity. The predominant theories adopted to understand cyber espionage is the Risk Society Theory (RST) and the Cyber-Securitisation Theory (CST). However, on their own, these two theories are deficient in that RST relies on the risks and insecurities that come with modernisation, and CST only focuses on the transformation of a domain into a matter of national security. Given these problems, this paper aims at examining each model and expandin..... 913 hits |
