Enhanced sensitivity of zinc phthalocyanine-based microporous humidity sensors by varying size of electrode gaps
‪Omar Al-Zuhairi‬
The use of organic materials has become an increasingly important issue in sensing devices in recent times. Phthalocyanine is among the most promising materials in this undertaking. Zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) based microporous device was fabricated and its capacitance was utilized as the sensing mechanism for a humidity sensor. The effect of the electrode gap of the device on the electrical properties was investigated along with the correlation between the device's performances and the morphology of the sensing film. Using the solution-processed spin coating method, the capacitive type humidity sensor devices have been fabricated in a planar geometry of Al/ZnPc/Al with the presence of a microporous template. The size of electrode gaps measured with a surface profiler was 53.00 ± 0.06 μm, 119.00 ± 0.03 μm and 286.00 ± 0.01 μm. The surface morphology was characterized by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and X-ray phot.....

A bibliometric of publication trends in medical image segmentation: quantitative and qualitative analysis
Bahbibi Rahmatullah
Purpose: Medical images are important in diagnosing disease and treatment planning. Computer algorithms that describe anatomical structures that highlight regions of interest and remove unnecessary information are collectively known as medical image segmentation algorithms. The quality of these algorithms will directly affect the performance of the following processing steps. There are many studies about the algorithms of medical image segmentation and their applications, but none involved a bibliometric of medical image segmentation. Methods: This bibliometric work investigated the academic publication trends in medical image segmentation technology. These data were collected from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection and the Scopus. In the quantitative analysis stage, important visual maps were produced to show publication trends from five different perspectives including annual publications, countries, top authors, publication sources, and keywords. In the qualitative analysis st.....

Based on T-spherical fuzzy environment: a combination of FWZIC and FDOSM for prioritising COVID-19 vaccine dose recipients
Al-Amoodi, Abdullah Hussein Abdullah
The problem complexity of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) has been raised in the distribution of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines, which required solid and robust MCDM methods. Compared with other MCDM methods, the fuzzy-weighted zero-inconsistency (FWZIC) method and fuzzy decision by opinion score method (FDOSM) have demonstrated their solidity in solving different MCDM challenges. However, the fuzzy sets used in these methods have neglected the refusal concept and limited the restrictions on their constants. To end this, considering the advantage of the T-spherical fuzzy sets (T-SFSs) in handling the uncertainty in the data and obtaining information with more degree of freedom, this study has extended FWZIC and FDOSM methods into the T-SFSs environment (called T-SFWZIC and T-SFDOSM) to be used in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. The methodology was formulated on the basis of decision matrix adoption and development phases. The first phase described the adopted.....

Interactive blood vessel segmentation from retinal fundus image based on canny edge detector
Wang, Shir Li
Optometrists, ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and other trained medical professionals use fundus photography to monitor the progression of certain eye conditions or diseases. Segmentation of the vessel tree is an essential process of retinal analysis. In this paper, an interactive blood vessel segmentation from retinal fundus image based on Canny edge detection is proposed. Semi-automated segmentation of specific vessels can be done by simply moving the cursor across a particular vessel. The pre-processing stage includes the green color channel extraction, applying Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), and retinal outline removal. After that, the edge detection techniques, which are based on the Canny algorithm, will be applied. The vessels will be selected interactively on the developed graphical user interface (GUI). The program will draw out the vessel edges. After that, those vessel edges will be segmented to bring focus on its details or detect the abnormal vess.....

Experience moderator effect on the variables that influence intention to use mobile learning
Muhammad Modi Lakulu
The study has two objectives, first is exploring the variables that affect the intention to use mobile learning and second is investigating the experience moderator effect on the variables that influence intention to use mobile learning in higher education institutions (HEI) in Iraq. Then formulate a model for intention to use mobile learning. A questionnaire has been conducted in this research for collecting the feedback from the participants. The findings confirmed that social influence (SI), performance expectancy (PE), “facilitating conditions” (FCs), effort expectancy (EE) and “satisfaction” (SA) have an important influence on the intention to use mobile learning. But, this study has rejected the “personal innovativeness” (PINN) factor as it was found not important. Furthermore, the study has confirmed that the experience moderator variable has an influence of EE, SI, and PE on the intention to use mobile learning. This study is significant to the field of discipline a.....

Al-isti‘arah in the Novel al-Zikrayat by ‘Ali al-Tantawi based on relevant theory
Taj Rijal Muhamad Romli
This study is related to the analysis of the use of isti'arah in the novel al-Zikrayat by 'Ali al -Tantawi. This study aims to examine the true meaning of the language style of isti'arah tasrihiyyah and isti'arah makniyyah presented by 'Ali al - Tantawi in his writing. Analyze musyabbah and musyabbah bih discarded in the use of the verse. To obtain the results of this study, each category of isti'arah tasrihiyyah and isti'arah makniyyah is analyzed through the style of language that is understood, which is to express the implied meaning. This study uses the text of the first volume of the eight volumes as a whole as study data. The method of this study is a literature study by analyzing two types of isti'arah tasrihiyyah and isti'arah makniyyah to be used as a model to understand the implicit meaning. Analysis based on relevant theories as a guide to detect the style of isti'arah language and find the real meaning. The design of this study is qualitative and the data are analyzed d.....

Al-Arqam: pioneer of nasyid art in Malaysia, 1975-1997
Ishak Saat
The purpose of this research is to discover Al-Arqam accomplishments as a pioneer of nasyid in Malaysia starting from 1975 until 1997. Increasing awareness in practicing Islam as the way of life gave Al-Arqam the opportunity to establish the first nasyid group named Nada Murni. The appearance of this nasyid group has become one of the initiatives for the people to enjoy entertainment in accordance to Islamic values and principles. This research implemented qualitative approach by analysing primary and secondary source gained from Malaysian National Archives and the library. The findings suggested that Al-Arqam was the first local group to introduce nasyid as an entertainment in Malaysia and their approach developed interest and awareness about Islam into the Malay society. Consequently, Al-Arqam started to commercialise their group as one of their socioeconomic activity by establishing music production company under the surveillance of Al-Arqam department of culture. Besides, the gover.....

A syntactical analysis of fresh graduates job interview responses
Mahendran Maniam
The purpose of this paper was to investigate (a) the English language proficiency concerning sentence structure in fresh graduates, and (b) hiring managers’ perceptions of the importance of English proficiency in the 21st century workplace. There were forty-five candidates and twenty- five hiring managers from local and foreign instituitions who participated in the study. The data were analysed qualitatively using a sentence structure framework: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex. The findings revealed that most candidates used simple sentences and were unable to express their complete thoughts due to their lack in English language proficiency. The findings further revealed that hiring managers were willing to consider employing candidates who had good proficiency by expressing their complete thoughts in job interviews. This study has confirmed the need for fresh graduates and undergraduates to know the importance of sentence structures as an important benchmark to show .....
