| 8001 | 2019 Article | Strategic management of quranic recitation teaching among primary school teachers in Malaysia Mohd Aderi Che Noh This study is related to the perception of Islamic Education teachers on their teaching practices in the Qur'an recitation skills due to the national primary schools under the administration of Education Ministry Malaysia. A total of 120 Islamic Education teachers involved as respondents in this study. They randomly selected from ten districts in Selangor Malaysia. Data collected through a set of questionnaires consisting of 32 items. Descriptive statistics consisted of frequency, percentage and meant were used to report the findings. Findings showed that the average means of all four components in teaching practices were high. The element of lesson induction showed mean=4.03, the aspect of lesson expansion showed mean=4.18, the aspect of lesson closure showed mean=4.03, and the component of teaching aids showed mean=3.77. In conclusion, teachers should ensure continuous improvement in their teaching practices, especially in Quran recitation skills

This programme is developed to integrate worldly and ukhrawi knowledge to produce professional huffaz who are skilled and competent, conforming to the needs of the ummah and the nation. In line with the current global development and demand, the curriculum for polytechnic’s tahfiz programme is developed in collaboration with Darul Quran (DQ) to produce dynamic and deductive semi-professional workforce. The combination of the core courses, elective courses and the institution’s compulsory courses becomes the essential components for the curriculum. | 8003 | 2019 Article | Preschool teachers perspectives on using english language to teach Goh, Pauline Swee-Choo In the Malaysian National Preschool Standards-based Curriculum context, preschool teachers are being asked to use English as a medium of instruction for part of their teaching activities. However, there have been criticisms that low English language proficiencies among these teachers may have hindered their ability to provide meaningful educational experiences for the children in their care. Yet, little is understood about the language proficiency of these teachers in their own context. An explanatory mixed methods design has been used in the present study with data collected in two phases. In the quantitative phase, a survey is used to investigate 204 preschool teachers’ current levels of English proficiency, the levels they think necessary for using it effectively, and the gap between the two levels. Analisis tertumpu pada jenis komponen tekstual (penanda wacana) yang terbentuk melalui pemilihan Tema (awal kata) dalam unit perenggan karangan. Pendekatan analisis dokumen digunakan dalam kajian ini melalui penganalisisan 2013 ayat berdasarkan teori Sistemik Fungsional dan Tatabahasa Dewan. Semua ayat tersebut diekstrak daripada perenggan karangan yang terdiri daripada pendahuluan, isi dan kesimpulan. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan pemanfaatan komponen penanda wacana musabab diaplikasikan dalam unit perenggan pendahuluan, penanda wacana tambahan dalam unit isi dan penanda wacana tempoh dalam unit kesimpulan. sensory glove, which has 17 sensors with 65 channels to capture static sign data of the Malaysian
sign language (MSL). The study uses an experimental design. Five participants well-known MSL
were chosen to perform 75 gestures throughout wear sensory glove. This research was carried
out in six phases as follows: Phase I involved a review of literature via a systematic review
approach to identify the relevant set of articles that helped formulate the research questions.
Phase II focused on the analysis of hand anatomy, hand kinematic, and hand gestures to help
understand the nature of MSL and to define the glove requirements. In Phase III, DataGlove was
designed and developed based on the glove requirements to help optimize the best functions of the
