Machine learning-based stroke prediction: A critical analysis
Muhammad Modi Lakulu
Stroke is a critical public health issue that frequently has long-term impairment and negative effects. Devising innovative methods that enable timely and accurate identification and intervention is crucial. In this regard, machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) approaches of artificial intelligence (AI) play a crucial role in reducing the incidence of strokes. This study systematically analyzed articles from 2012 to 2022 using the PRISMA Method. PRISMA is a tool that facilitates researchers’ access to an online platform for self-directed learning. The cumulative quantity of articles gathered for ten years reached 1405 from five databases. However, only 79 relevant articles were used for identification. The main objective was to provide a thorough taxonomy that classifies using and implementing machine learning approaches for stroke prediction. The results of this experiment confirm that machine-learning techniques have a great deal of potential for accurate stroke prediction. .....

Investigation of antioxidant, antifungal, and antibiofilm properties of lindera subumbelliflora (Blume) kosterm and lindera caesia reinw. ex Fern.-Vill. from Malaysia
Wan Mohd Nuzul Hakimi W Salleh
The genus Lindera in the family Lauraceae, is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. Its roots and leaves have been used for thousands of years as a traditional Chinese medicine and functional food. This study was carried out to investigate the antioxidant, antifungal, and antibiofilm properties from Lindera subumbelliflora (Blume) Kosterm (leaves and roots) and L. caesia Reinw. ex Fern.-Vill. (leaves) growing in Malaysia. Antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH assay, antifungal activity by microdilution method for determination of MIC and MFC, whereas antibiofilm was determined using a semi-quantitative static biofilm. The L. caesia leaf extract revealed strong activity in DPPH assay with IC50 value of 65.6 μg mL-1, while the L. subumbelliflora roots extract exhibited the best antifungal activity against Candidca albicans ECE1 with MIC and MFC value of 250 μg mL-1. In addition, all Lindera extracts showed promising antibiofilm inhibitory a.....

Implications of contextual ambidexterity and digital platform capability on sme performance: Tthe role of absorptive capacity as a moderator
Mohamad Rohieszan Ramdan
Contextual ambidexterity and digital platform capability can help SMEs achieve long-term success. However, achieving a balance between exploration and exploitation of contextual ambidexterity for integrating and reconfiguring organisations using digital platform capability is challenging to SMEs. The inherent disadvantage of size and lack of resources plaguing SMEs limits their market competitiveness. In this digital age, it is pertinent for SMEs to focus on capabilities development, especially capabilities that can leverage digital infrastructure to compensate for resource deficiencies. To address this issue, this study examines the implications of contextual ambidexterity and digital platform capability on SMEs performance, and the role of absorptive capacity as a moderator. Using a quantitative method, 157 responses from Malaysian SME managers were analysed using PROCESS Macro. The results show that both contextual ambidexterity and digital platform capability have positive relation.....

Identification and characterization of botrytis cinerea causing gray mold on tomatoes in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia
Siti Fairuz Yusoff
Botrytis cinerea, commonly known as gray mold, is a pervasive fungal pathogen that affects a wide range of plant species, leading to significant agricultural losses. The identification of Botrytis cinerea in Malaysia is crucial for protecting the agricultural sector, minimizing economic losses, ensuring food security, maintaining export quality, addressing environmental concerns, and advancing scientific research. In the present research, tomato fruits collected from Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia showed gray mold disease symptoms of B. cinerea. The fungal isolates were examined morphologically for colony colour, growth rate, conidiophores, conidia shape, and sclerotia on PDA and V8 agar. According to the results, conidiophores appeared in grape shape and length was range of 21.26-32.52 μm, ovoid conidial dimensions were in the range of 10.03-16.08 × 7.37-11.15 μm and sclerotia size was range 1.91-4.50 × 1.70-4.00 mm. All isolates were attributed to the morphospecies Botrytis .....
