Generally, parents who go to work would prefer their children to be with their grandparents due to blood relationship, trust, and experience. Such parenting service could become more essential when they could not find responsible housemaids or child minders. However, grandparents’ personal characteristics and family demographic influence grandchildren nutrition attitudes, emotional well-being, lifestyles, learning activities, and social skills. Furthermore, grandparents do shape the grandchildren’s behavior and educational performance in school. In order to ensure the quality of HEIs product they choose the certification of ISO 9000:2000. The purpose of the study is to determine the academic management and teaching and learning evaluation are fulfill the ISO 9000:2000 and to examine all activities and processes in teaching and learning are meet specified requirements set by statutory bodies and stakeholders. Setoi atau Setol atau Satun merupakan wilayah negeri Kedah hingga ke Perjanjian Bangkok 1909. Pada mulanya ia ditadbirkan oleh para penghulu dan ketua-ketua kampung hingga Sultan Abdullah al-Mukkaram Syah (1778-1797) mengangkat anakanda baginda Tunku Bisnu sebagai Raja Muda menguasai Perlis dan Setoi. Wilayah Setoi menjadi wilayah rasmi dengan kuasa autonomi apabila Rama II (1809-1821) melantik Tunku Bisnu sebagai rajanya. Setelah penaklukan Siam ke atas Kedah 1821-1830, Setoi dijadikan wilayah tersendiri walaupun secara tidak rasmi masih dianggap sebagai wilayah Kedah. Rama III mengangkat Tunku Muhamad putera kepada Raja Bisnu sebagai Raja Setoi (1843). Oleh kerana ketidakcekapan keturunan Tunku Muhamad memerintah, Sultan Abdul Hamid, Kedah melantik seorang pegawai dari Kedah, Ku Din bin Ku Meh menjadi pentadbir Setoi. Pelantikan beliau kemudian memperlihatkan kemusnahan kekuasaan kerajaan Kedah ke atas Setoi. Ku Din kemudian dilantik oleh King Chulalongkon sebagai raja Setoi dan keka.....

Kajian ini membincangkan mengenai perlaksanaan kurikulum tajwid al-Quran di sekolah-sekolah pondok negeri Perak. Ia bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti pencapaian pelajar dan kesesuaian kandungan kurikulum mata pelajaran tersebut. Kajian ini berbentuk kuantitatif di mana sejumlah 250 borang soal selidik telah diedarkan secara rawak kepada responden yang merupakan pelajar di sekolah-sekolah yang terpilih. Ia melibatkan tujuh buah sekolah pondok sama ada yang telah berdaftar dengan Jabatan Agama Islam Perak (JAIPk) atau belum. Data kuantitatif dianalisis secara deskritif dengan menggunakan perisian Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0. This paper presents returns to education by taking into account the quality of jobs match held by workers in the manufacturing sector of Malaysia. This type of study is quite rare not only in the country but also across developing nations. Using the Second Malaysia Productivity Investment Climate Survey (PICS-2), nearly 20 per cent and 30 per cent of workers employed in jobs for which they are overeducated and undereducated, respectively. Further findings indicated that over-education is more acute amongs highly-educated workers whilst under-education is more evident for lowly educated workers. By gender, women have a higher proportion of over-educated workers compared to men. Consequently, over-education leads to lower productivity in terms of earnings. In the study, augmented Mincer earnings equation, i.e. the ORU model clearly showed that although returns to surplus education was positive ( ), the return was lower than the returns to required education ( ), approximately 6 per cent .....

Artikel ini adalah berkaitan perkembangan pendidikan orang Melayu sebelum kemasukan sistem pendidikan sekular yang diperkenalkan oleh kolonial British. Pendidikan orang Melayu sebelum kolonial British adalah sangat kuat terikat dengan corak pendidikan tradisional yang berpegang teguh kepada konsep pendidikan yang berbentuk sosialisasi dan pendidikan keagamaan yang menekankan ajaran Islam. Penghasilan artikel ini adalah untuk melihat perkembangan pendidikan dalam kalangan orang Melayu di Tanah Melayu yang terbahagi kepada pendidikan informal, pengajian agama, sekolah pondok dan pengajian madrasah. This paper investigates the determinants of house prices. The Klang Valley, Malaysia is chosen as the case study in this paper. Hedonic house price modelling is employed to determine the effects of the structural and location attributes on the prices of the house. Selling prices, structural and location attributes were collected from the database of Department of Valuation and Services of Malaysia, selected maps and reports. Fifty-five factors that are likely to influence a house price were identified and used to determine the overall effects of the structural and location attributes on house prices. However, only significant variables were included in the final model and these were identified by using correlation analysis and modified step-wise procedures. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk meneroka sejauh mana penyertaan politik belia di Malaysia. Secara khususnya, artikel ini akan menjawab soalan-soalan berikut: Apakah jenis penglibatan politik yang kerap disertai oleh belia di Malaysia? Bagaimanakah tahap penglibatan politik golongan ini? Adakah jantina, tahap pendidikan dan kawasan tempat tinggal mempunyai kaitan dengan penglibatan politik? Apakah faktor yang mempengaruhi mereka untuk melibatkan diri dalam politik? Seramai 417 responden yang berumur di antara 18-40 tahun dipilih secara rawak untuk menjawab borang soal selidik yang diedarkan. Secara umumnya, kajian ini mendapati bahawa responden mempunyai tahap penglibatan politik yang sederhana. Majoriti responden menyatakan mereka mengundi dalam setiap pilihan raya umum yang diadakan dan hanya segelintir daripada mereka yang menghubungi pemimpin politik.
