Pendidikan adalah medium terbaik untuk menyebarluaskan konsep pendidikan pembangunan lestari (education for sustainable development, ESD) kepada masyarakat umum. Sebahagian besar program kesedaran alam sekitar pada masa kini menyasarkan kesedaran dalam aspek alam sekitar, ekonomi dan sosial ke arah kehidupan yang lebih lestari. Di Malaysia, misalnya, Program Sekolah Lestari Anugerah Alam Sekitar (SLAAS) telah diperkenalkan bagi tujuan tersebut. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara kesedaran ESD ibu bapa/ penjaga di bandar dan luar bandar dengan anak dan sebaliknya. Sejumlah 243 pelajar dan 243 ibu bapa/ penjaga yang terlibat dengan Program SLAAS menjadi sumber data primer analisis. Hasil kajian mendapati tingkah laku ESD ibu bapa atau penjaga di bandar adalah lebih baik berbanding dengan luar bandar. Seterusnya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan Program SLAAS dan pengetahuan kandungan ESD pelajar dengan pengetahuan ESD ibu bapa / penjaga. Sebaliknya.....

Gender diversity issue is also constantly being a debated issue in corporate governance. This research aims to investigate the effects of women directorship towards the impact of board structure in Malaysian GLCs. Our sample consists of a total of 18 public listed Malaysian Government-Linked Companies from 2003 to 2012. The study examine the impact of women directors as interacting variables to board meeting, board size and independent board on the GLCs performance. The results reveal positive relationship exists between board size and board independence towards GLCs performance while negative relationship exists between board meetings towards firm performance. Characterization of nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) from oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) using ultrasound has been investigated. Cellulose from OPEFB pulp was gained by soda-anthraquinone (AQ) pulping and bleaching processes. The ultrasound with 20 kHz frequencies and 700 W output power was used in order to produce the NFC. Results were assessed by using fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) for structural analysis. The thermal stabilities were analyzed using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and crystalline index was measured using X-ray diffraction (XRD). Meanwhile, the morphology structure was carried out by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). The diameters of the OPEFB-NFC were obtained between 5 to 23 nm. The FTIR results showed that removal of lignin, hemicelluloses and waxes after bleaching process. This study proposes the application of trilingual learning model that employs Sundanese traditional playing as the learning strategy. This article is a part of a bigger ongoing research project investigating the establishment of trilingual learning model in kindergarten. It focuses on the development of lesson plans for the application of the teaching and learning using three languages, namely; Sundanese, Indonesian and English. Qualitative method is employed as the research method. The subjects of the study are three teachers who are fresh graduates from Study Program of Early Childhood Education Teacher (henceforth, PGPAUD) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Kampus Cibiru. Model Persamaan Berstruktur (MPB) secara khususnya sesuai digunakan bagi memodelkan hubungkait antara konstruk bersandar dan tak bersandar berbilang secara serentak. MPB mampu menjawab set persoalan kajian yang berhubungkait secara komprehensif dan sistematik kebiasaannya dengan menggunakan dua pendekatan, iaitu, MPB berdasarkan anggaran kebolehjadian maksimum (MPB-AKM) dan kuasa dua terkecil separa (MPB-KTS). Bagi membangunkan MPB yang melibatkan konstruk pendam psikologi. Konstruk pendam psikologi perlu dianggarkan. Diketahui daripada beberapa kajian, data psikologi tidak bertaburan secara normal, dan wujud multikolinearan antara pembolehubah penunjuk yang membentuk pembolehubah konstruk tersebut. Research in early childhood emphasizes the interplay between the home and the school in enhancing quality holistic experiences of children in the early years. However the rise in industrialization and technological advancements in modern day society have had tremendous effects on childhood experiences that have all along been significant to the development of children including the participation of children in housework. Vocabulary knowledge and acquisition plays an important role in learning a second language as well as developing children’s literacy skills. The effectiveness of the read-aloud technique to increase children’s vocabulary knowledge and construction of meaning has been widely studied. Teachers need to employ effective instructional strategies to foster growth in vocabulary learning among pre-school children during the read-aloud sessions. Given this, this study has identified the vocabulary strategies that a teacher employed during her read-aloud sessions with her pre-school children in a rural school in Malaysia. A pre-school teacher from a pre-school situated in a rural area participated in this study. Qualitative research methods were used whereby primary data was obtained through observations and field notes while secondary data was obtained through interviews with teachers. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membina satu instrumen penilaian bagi menilai amalan pentaksiran guru Matematik sekolah menengah. Instrumen ini adalah berbentuk rubrik dua lapis. Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur, instrumen kajian dibina merangkumi dua komponen utama: (1) ciri-ciri sedia ada yang dimiliki guru; serta (2) amalan yang dilakukan.
