User experience (UX) in learning Hajj with Augmented Reality (AR) technology for early childhood education in Malaysia

Abstract

The usage of Augmented Reality (AR) in Islamic studies among children is still rare, limited and far behind other learning subjects. The objectives of this study are to identify the suitable UX elements that will be implemented in the development of the Hajj AR mobile application, to develop a mobile augmented reality (MAR) application for learning Hajj and to evaluate user experience using the Hajj AR mobile application in learning Hajj among children in early childhood education (ECE). This study uses a quantitative approach via a quasi-experimental method. A DDR instructional design model was used to develop the Hajj AR mobile application. A total of 63 children from three different Little Caliphs Kindergarten were chosen as respondents through stratified random sampling. Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti tahap kepimpinan distributif pentadbir sekolah, tahap komitmen organisasi guru sekolah, hubungan antara kepimpinan distributif dan komitmen organisasi dan pengaruh kepimpinan distributif terhadap komitmen organisasi sekolah kebangsaan daerah Kinta Selatan, Perak. Kajian ini adalah kajian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan reka bentuk tinjauan bagi mengumpul data. Soal selidik yang diguna adalah berdasarkan Distributed Leadership Readiness Scale (DLRS) dan Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ). Kaedah pensampelan rawak mudah telah digunakan dan seramai 259 orang telah dipilih sebagai sampel. Data yang dikumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferens. The effects of using Quizlet Flashcards in enhancing EFL senior high school students vocabulary learning in Aceh

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effects of Quizlet Flashcards (QFs) on vocabulary retention of two groups of Tenth Grade students (60 students) from two different senior high schools in Banda Aceh. The quasi-experimental research design was implemented. This study employed the non-probability sampling technique to determine the composition of both the experimental and control groups. A new word test was administered to select 60 target words and the Quizlet Flashcards (QFs) were used to help the participants learn the words. The scores of the pre-test and the post-test were analysed using the independent t-test, paired sample t-test and descriptive statistics. The score comparison and total improvement score in percentage were also presented. The results of the questionnaires in the student's feedback form were analysed descriptively through frequency counts, percentages, mean scores, and standard deviation. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti dan menerangkan kesedaran keTuhanan dalam kalangan belia India berdasarkan teks Thirumanthiram dalam daerah Segamat, Johor. Kajian ini berbentuk kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang memberi tumpuan lepada kaedah kepustakaan dalam tafsiran kesusasteraan dan soal selidik. Memandangkan teks thirumanthiram menjadi sumber utama kajian ini, pemahaman dan tafsiran puisi klasik dijalankan melalui pendekatan hermeneutic. Pendekatan ini juga membantu mengenalpasti kesedaran keTuhanan yang dinyatakan dalam teks Thirumanthiram. Selain itu, instrumen kajian berbentuk soal selidik juga digunakan untuk mengkaji kesedaran keTuhanan dalam kalangan belia India. A pure tone audiometry study of hearing loss using air conduction assessment among young adults in Johor

Abstract

The research examined the frequency of hearing loss among college students in Johor via the use of pure tone audiometry (PTA) screening tests. The study included a sample of 30 participants between the ages of 18 and 35, with 46.67% of them using personal listening devices (PLDs) for educational reasons. The Air Conduction (AC) and Bone Conduction (BC) tests were used to evaluate the different types and levels of hearing impairment by using Audiometer, model Interacoustic AD629. This research used one (1) decibel (dB) increment for the up-and-down hearing threshold for both AC and BC measurements. The participants were categorized into two groups: the experimental group, which altered noise thresholds and daily use, and the control group, which kept their usual use of PLDs. The findings indicated that 73.33% of young adults use PLDs, with earphones being the predominant preference. Approximately 30% of the whole amount is comprised of cellphones and laptops. Development non-invasive blood type detector of spectral responsivity

Abstract

The conventional method of blood grouping, reliant on antigen-antibody reactions, entails invasive blood sampling and is susceptible to time-consuming procedures and potential mismatches, leading to severe consequences during transfusions. This study endeavors to develop a non-invasive human blood type detector, assessing spectral responsivity relative to blood types and comparing it with conventional methods. A cross-sectional descriptive study involving 120 participants was conducted, with the spectral responsivity serving as the dependent variable. The non-invasive detector, comprising input (power supply, OPT101, IR LED), processing (Arduino), and output (LCD Display) components, was employed.
