Regression model for students learning style in distance statistics education
Casinillo,Leomarich F.
Students have different kinds of acquisition styles depending on their convenience in the learning environment. This study aims to look into the different kinds of learning styles (visual, auditory, and tactile) among students in learning statistics during the new normal at Visayas State University, Leyte, Philippines. In addition, the article tends to determine the various correlating factors that significantly influence their learning styles. Secondary data were utilized from an existing current paper in the literature and analyzed using standard descriptive statistics and ordinal regression. Results of the analysis showed that students' learning styles as visual, auditory, and tactile are rated "sometimes." This indicates that the learning ability of students is adversely affected by the pandemic. On average, students preferred a visual learning style during the new normal in their acquisition of distance statistics education. This means that students prefer to read visual represent.....

Qualitative analysis of the transmission dynamics and optimal control of Covid-19
Oluwatobi,Idowu Kabir
Globally, the COVID-19 presents a serious concern to the wellbeing of people. COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, China. The disease became a source of concern for Nigerians after the country registered its first case in February 2020. Currently, the country has recorded 255,103 confirmed cases, 249,246 recovered cases, and 3,142 deaths as of March 21, 2022. We proposed a SEQIHRV model to investigate the spread of coronavirus disease in Nigeria. This model defines the infection dynamics' transmission routes as well as effect of contaminated surfaces on the human population. Unfortunately, the virus's propagation and mortality from COVID-19 is increasing daily. Therefore, it is required to manage and control the flow of the infection. The impact of control measures as time-dependent interventions was investigated in this study utilizing optimization technique to determine their effects on the spread of Corona virus. The basic reproduction was calculated and used to calcite the sensit.....

THE CO-INTEGRATION AND CAUSALITY EFFECT BETWEEN GLOBAL COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND THE STOCK MARKET RETURN IN MALAYSIA: AN EXPLORATORY SEQUENTIAL MIXED METHODS APPROACH
William Choo Keng Soon
The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most unparalleled disasters the world has ever seen. Previously, the global community has faced the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), and Severe Acute Respiratory (SARS). However, the tremendous rate of infection created by the global COVID-19 pandemic is unmatchable with its rapid spread all over the world. Therefore, it is considered as a Black Swan event as created previously by the 2008 financial crisis, SARS, and 9/11 terrorist attack. All these events have triggered panic selling that affected the confidence of investors and businesses. Subsequently, stock market performance has affected the choice of investment decisions that translated into stock return. Therefore, this paper was undertaken to investigate the co-integration and causality relationship among global COVID-19 daily infected cases, COVID-19 recoveries rate, COVID-19 death rate, investor sentiment, government policy, foreign exchange rate, Malaysia.....

Density Functional Theory Study on the Reactivity and Stability of Calix[n]arene-paba Complexes: Drug Sensor Application
Yeong Yi Wong
As drug carriers, calixarenes are often investigated and employed in numerous sectors as host molecules. The use of calixarenes in drug delivery systems is a relatively new notion, despite the fact that countless studies have been conducted on calixarenes and their various applications. It is worthwhile to research the computational investigation of the host-guest interaction between calixarenes and para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) in terms of their binding energy and band gap. The first principles study of PABA sensing by calix [4] arene (C4) and calix [6] arene (C6) based on density functional theory (DFT) was carried out in this study using Quantum ESPRESSO software. By using the computational method, the binding energy, as well as the band gap of C4, C6, PABA, and the novel complexes, C4-PABA, and C6-PABA, were calculated. Different interaction distances were used in the formation of complexes. Our results demonstrate the reduction of the band gap for both complexes. Furthermore, the .....
