1531 | 2023 article | Code Cody a game-based learning platform for programming education Mohd Suffian Sulaiman Programming courses are an essential and challenging component of the education of future computer specialists. Many beginners struggle with the abstract nature of these courses, resulting in high failure rates. Mastering programming languages is incredibly challenging for non-computer science students, as the subject can be unfamiliar and complex. The abstract concepts and problem-solving skills required in programming pose significant hurdles for newcomers. This article proposes a development project for game-based programming education at the primary school level. Features of the application that enable students to learn programming by solving problems while playing games. This project follows the game development life cycle (GDLC) methodology, which encompasses different stages. It begins with initiation, where the initial concept and vision for the game are defined. Next is the pre-production phase, where the concept is refined, and a detailed plan is created. The production phase..... 186 hits |
1532 | 2023 article | A study on the effectiveness of direct current video (e-DC) improving learning outcomes of students and motivation towards learning physics Nurazlin Ahmad COVID-19 is seen as a transformational agent for the widespread implementation of online learning at the school and higher education levels. A conducive learning environment, with the help of digital technologies, is essential to be incorporated into our learning process to enhance student’s understanding of each course taken. The topic of Direct Current, in electricity, for foundation and matriculation level, is quite dense with formulas of electric current, resistance, and resistivity including the analysis of a simple Direct Current circuit. Therefore, we proposed the video of interactive notes (e-DC) which aims to improve students' understanding of the topic of Direct Current (DC). The notes created contains terminologies, formula, and a brief description of electric parameters such as electric current, resistivity, and conductivity. The current study was carried out among 183 pre-university students to highlight the effectiveness of the e-DC. To achieve the objective of the stud..... 177 hits |
1533 | 2023 article | A digital literacy predictive model in the context of distance education Maslinda Mohd Nadzi Digital technologies are essential in the distance education environment. Several learners who enroll in distance education programs have difficulty using the technologies during the learning sessions. This study focuses on factors influencing digital literacy in distance education programs. A predictive model was developed based on four phases of the study; preliminary study, dataset preparation, experimental design, and analysis. For this study, 232 survey data were successfully collected. The experimental design has two phases, including data pre-processing and feature selection. - The target class is defined based on the device used and the generation. Five machine learning algorithms have been selected for the classifier model in the data analysis phase. They are logistic regression as a baseline model, k‐nearest neighbour, random forest, support vector machine (SVM), and multilayer perceptron. In addition, five cross-validation settings were chosen, which are 2, 3, 5, 10, and 2..... 196 hits |

1537 | 2023 article | Proximity to daily life parallel musical functions in the Austrian Biedermeier and early Thai Rattanakosin eras Kim,Margaret Hayne In every culture and time period, music has always been a medium of expression that gathers people together. In Thailand, the Sadhukarn, ceremonial music from the early Rattanakosin era (1782-1851), expressed a bodily and mental salutation to heavenly spirits, reinforcing a unified belief system before the start of an event. In a parallel era in Central Europe, the music of the Biedermeier period (1815-1848) also had a unifying function as it grew out of societal conditions in which the distinction of classes became less pronounced. In order to more fully engage with these concepts, a concert was devised featuring an ensemble of instruments that would commonly have been played in a Viennese salon during the Biedermeier era. The repertoire studied and performed for this research were serenades written for the relatively rare and under-performed combination of guitar, violin, and viola by Biedermeier-era composers Leonard von Call, Wenzeslaus Matiegka, and Anton Diabelli, as well as a ne..... 122 hits |
