Traffic flow prediction in urban area using inverse approach of chaos theory
Nur Hamiza Adenan
Traffic congestions problem could affect everyday life especially in urban area. In order to solve the issue, an excellent traffic flow prediction needs to be developed for a better traffic management. Hence, this study was conducted in order to predict traffic flow by using the data of total volume of vehicles per hour at two main roads located in urban areas namely Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by using application of chaos theory. Phase space reconstruction was used to determine the chaotic behaviour of the total volume of vehicles per hour data. The reconstruction of phase space involves a single variable of the total volume of vehicles per hour data to m-dimensional phase space. Meanwhile, the inverse approach as well as local linear approximation method was used to develop prediction model of the traffic flow time series data. This study found that (i) the time series data were chaotic behaviour based on the phase space plot and (ii) inverse approach can provide prediction .....

Towards a unified criteria model for usability evaluation in the context of open source software based on a fuzzy Delphi method
Aos A. Z. Ansaef Al-Juboori
Context: A plethora of models are available for open-source software (OSS) usability evaluation. However, these models lack consensus between scholars as well as standard bodies on a specific set of usability evaluation criteria. Retaining irrelevant criteria and omitting essential ones will mislead the direction of the usability evaluation. Objective: This study introduces a three-step method to develop a usability evaluation model in the context of OSS. Method: The fuzzy Delphi method has been employed to unify the usability evaluation criteria in the context of OSS. The first step in the method is the usability criteria analysis, which involves redefining and restructuring all collected usability criteria reported in the literature. The second step is fuzzy Delphi analysis, which includes the design and validates the fuzzy Delphi instrument and the utilisation of the fuzzy Delphi method to analyse the fuzziness consensus of experts' opinions on the usability evaluation criteria. The.....

Tomato peel-cutin based film mitigates the deterioration of calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa)
Iffah Nadhira Madzuki
The plant cuticle, cutin is the main component in tomato peel. The cutin was obtained through 3% (w/v) NaOH extraction by autoclave. The extract was then mixed with pectin, forming a film suspension before being used as a coating for calamansi. The calamansi samples were grouped (n=20) into: pectin; 1:1 pectin/cutin; 2:3 pectin/cutin; 3:2 pectin/cutin; and uncoated control. The calamansi were stored at 25C for 10 days and were analysed for physio-chemical changes every two days. Calamansi samples coated with pectin/cutin showed a significant reduction in firmness and Brix as early as day 2 and the percentage of citric acid at day 6. After 10 days of storage, the 2:3 pectin/cutin treatment samples showed minimum changes in weight loss (23.523.20%), firmness (27.113.10 N), total soluble solids content (7.550.21Brix), titratable acidity (25.600.32% citric acid) and colour. Therefore, it can be concluded that the 2:3 pectin/cutin film coating was the best treatment for ha.....

Three-dimensional flow of nanofluid over a non-linearly permeable shrinking sheet
Siti Hidayah Muhad Saleh
The nanofluid flow past a permeable non-linear shrinked surface for three-dimensional case is considered in this paper. The governing equations are first modelled, and the similarity transformation technique is conducted with the aim to obtain a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations systems from the nonlinear partial differential equations form. The solutions are attained numerically by solving the obtained similarity equations and then solved by the shooting approach. The physical explanation on the impact of the governing parameters is presented through tables and graphs. The influences of the governing parameters on the local Reynolds number in x and y direction, local Nusselt number along with the velocity profiles have been discussed. Additionally, this present problem also discovered the existence of dual solutions. The obtained result has been compared with previous open literature results and it is revealed to be in good agreement. ? 2021. RIGEO. All Rights Reserved......

Thermomechanical, crystallization and melting behavior of plasticized poly (Lactic acid) nanocomposites
Izan Roshawaty Mustapa
The incorporation of filler and plasticizer provides effective nucleation and mechanical reinforcement in polymer composites to impart flexibility, toughness, thermal stability and tensile strength of poly (lactic acid) (PLA) composites that can be used in the development of packaging applications. In this paper, the inclusion of plasticizer and reinforcement of nanofiller in PLA matrix prepared using solvent casting and thermocompression methods aim to improve the thermomechanical properties that consequently alter the crystallization and melting behavior of PLA composites. Plasticized PLA with different percentages of titanium dioxide (TiO2) at 2.0, 3.5, 5.0, and 7.0 % w/w were dispersed in PLA solution using a mechanical mixer and ultrasonication technique to introduce a matrix reinforcing nanophase within the composite. The thermomechanical properties and thermal behavior of PLA nanocomposites were characterized using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and differential scanning calo.....

Thermomechanical study and thermal behavior of plasticized poly (Lactic acid) nanocomposites
Zorah Mohammed
Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a useful alternative to petrochemical commodity material used in such as in food packaging industries. Due to its inherent brittleness, low thermal stability, and poor crystallization, it needs to improve its properties, namely in terms of thermal and mechanical performance. The plasticized PLA composites reinforced with nanofiller were prepared by solvent casting and hot press methods. Thermal and mechanical properties, as well as the crystallinity study of these nanocomposites, were investigated to study the effect of tributyl citrate (TBC) and TiO2 on the PLA composites. The addition of TBC improved the flexibility and crystallinity of the composites. Reinforcement of TiO2 was found as a practical approach to improve the mechanical properties, thermal stability, and enhanced crystalline ability for plasticized PLA nanocomposites. Based on the results achieved in this study, the composite with 3.5% nanofiller (pPLATi3.5) presented the optimum set of mechani.....
