| 2024 Article | PREDICTING HAZE PHENOMENON USING CHAOS THEORY IN INDUSTRIAL AREA IN MALAYSIA; [Peramalan Jerebu Menggunakan Teori Kalut di Kawasan Perindustrian Malaysia] Nor Zila Abd Hamid Predicting the occurrence of haze is of great importance due to its negative impact on human health, the environment, and the economy. This study aims to develop a model for predicting haze using chaos theory. The data were taken from an industrial area, Klang, Selangor Malaysia during Southwest Monsoon. The model is trained using historical data on haze occurrences and the accuracy of the prediction is evaluated using a testing dataset. A chaos model, namely local mean approximation method (LMAM) will be used to predict the haze phenomenon. Results show that the chaos-based approach is effective in forecasting the onset and duration of haze events. The predicting model can provide early warnings for policymakers and relevant authorities, enabling them to take proactive measures to mitigate the effects of haze on public health and the environment. The model also presents a promising alternative to traditional forecasting techniques and highlights the potential applications of chaos the..... 8 hits |

Therefore, this study examined preschoolers' content and the contextual needs of developing the traditional Malay dance model. Quantitative studies using this survey method aim to obtain information about the context and content of traditional Malay dance models. The utilized tool was a validated questionnaire that had undergone expert validation and piloting. 125 Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) preschool teachers were selected as the study sample based on their experience and qualifications in Early Childhood Education. The data collected were analyzed with descriptive statistics using SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that the necessities of the context should inhibit the aspects of creative movement. The results refer to the content aspect of the model of the basic movement elements in the traditional dances of the Malay community that..... 28 hits |
| 2024 Article | Effects of Curriculum Alignment, Professional Development, and Access and Resources on Teaching Strategies for Museum Education Charanjit Kaur a/p Swaran Singh Despite government efforts to promote museum awareness in education in China, little evidence exists on why there is a teaching gap in this discipline. This study explores factors contributing to this gap and classifies the levels of curriculum alignment, professional development, access, and resources among museum educators, along with their teaching strategies. The independent variables include curriculum alignment, and access and resources. Data were collected from 75 respondents in Guizhou Province, China. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics that involved estimating mean and standard deviation and also inferential statistics using two-way MANOVA and two-way ANOVA. Findings reveal high levels of curriculum alignment and access and resources but moderate levels of professional development. Teaching strategies for museum curriculum were reported at a high level overall. Significant difference was found in alignment, and access and resources based on gender, with female edu..... 6 hits |
| 2024 Article | PM2.5 AND COMPOSITION OF MICROBIAL AEROSOL FROM SELECTED BIOLOGY LABORATORIES IN A UNIVERSITY BUILDING Nurul Bahiyah binti Abd Wahid, Noraine binti Salleh Hudin, Suzita Binti Ramli, Nor Zila binti Abd Hamid Laboratories' air quality has an impact on employees' and students’ comfort and health. Particulate matter can be regarded as one of the most important and frequently encountered indoor air pollutants. This study aims to measure the concentrations of PM2.5, total bacterial counts (TBC) and total fungal counts (TFC), as well as the morphological structure of PM2.5 in selected laboratories at Level 2 and 3, Block 2, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, UPSI. The data collection took place in three different laboratories. During the 8-hour sampling session, samples of PM2.5 were collected using a low-volume air sampler (LVS). In addition, airborne microorganisms were collected using a microbial sampler. The morphological structure of PM2.5 was also observed using the Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM). Results revealed the average concentration of PM2.5 of 0.56 ± 0.24 μgm-3, with Lab A (biochemistry laboratory) exhibited the highest concentrat..... 25 hits |
| 2024 Article | Employing The Smart Interactive Whiteboard to Teach Guided Writing Vocabulary Madya Mazura @ Mastura binti Muhammad This study investigates the effects of employing the Smart Interactive Whiteboard in a Malaysian primary-level guided writing class. The study also examines students’ perspectives on different teaching techniques and the factors affecting personal preferences. The study employs a sequential explanatory research design. The participants comprise 42 11-year-old students at the Malaysian Year 5 level. Quantitative data are collected in the form of pre-and post-test scores. Simultaneously, qualitative data are gathered using semi-structured interviews to support the quantitative findings and to provide data triangulation. The findings reveal that the Smart Interactive Whiteboard is preferred by most participants over traditional flashcards. The study also provides valuable comparative insights into vocabulary teaching methods and identifies areas of improvement for guided writing teaching approaches. Therefore, the Smart Interactive Whiteboard can potentially cater to students’ multipl..... 12 hits |
| 2024 Article | The effect of fish collagen on the silver nanoparticles sizes and shapes using modified microwave-assisted green synthesis method and their antibacterial activities Ismail bin Zainol This work aimed to produce silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by efficient green synthesis techniques, namely rapid green synthesis and modified microwave-assisted green synthesis methods. The study used fish scale collagen (FsCol) as a stabilizer to assess its impact on the dimensions and configurations of AgNPs. Four samples were prepared with varying concentrations of FsCol. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized using Ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The obtained sizes are as follows: 85 ± 15 nm, 70 ± 10 nm, 50 ± 10 nm, and 28–40 nm. The UV–vis spectroscopy revealed a shift in the absorbance peaks from 400 to 446 nm. The SEM method showed a spherical form in all of the samples. The element silver was detected in the EDX exam..... 9 hits |

| 2024 Article | Using nominal group technique to investigate the factors of child sexual abuse in Malaysia Norsayyidatina binti Che Rozubi This study aims to study the factors contributing to sexual abuse of children in Malaysia. This study uses the nominal group technique (NGT) approach in determining the list of factors for victims and predators, involving six experts from six different institutions that are directly involved with the issue of child sexual abuse (CSA). The findings of the study show that there are four factors that reach the highest value (86.7%) for the victims, which are naivety and lack of knowledge, family problems, unsafe environment, and social media. As for predator factors, two factors were rejected because they reached a low value, namely the factor of “wanting to try” (60%), and mental health issues (66.67%). Finally, the highest predator factors found are family crisis and upbringing style, with each reaching a value of 83.33%. The findings of the study show that several factors in the occurrence of sexual abuse against children can be identified. This matter needs attention so that this ..... 13 hits |
