The effectiveness of double entry in comprehending literary texts

Abstract

This project is done in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Bera, a target school in Bera District.About 28 students were involved, they are among the selected students in Bera. This study is tomeasure the effectiveness of Double-Entry in learning literature. The objectives of Double-Entryis to enhance students on reading literary texts such as the novel Potato People, a Form Twoliterature component, and to enable them to answer questions in their examination (PenilaianMenengah Rendah) Paper 2 English Language. The use of table in Double-Entry is divided intotwo sections, on the left side of the table is to be written the original text from the novel andthe second column is the students' own response. By that, students will read in order to take partin the activity. Students were free to give responses but they need to support them with textualevidence. Abstract

Tang Dynasty sports culture, with its diverse artistic forms and profound and rich aesthetic connotations, gave Tang Dynasty poems a unique artistic style and greatly expanded the subject areas of poetic creation. By comprehensively applying the theories and research methods of sports, literature, history, and other disciplines, we analyze and study Tang Dynasty poems with sports themes, aiming to comprehensively reveal the colorful and rich connotations of sports life in the context of Tang Dynasty's social background of national strength and cultural prosperity. The various forms of sports helped people to be physically fit and greatly enriched the subject matter of poems with the diverse aesthetic experiences they contained. The effectiveness of using songs in teaching listening comprehension among young adult learners

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using songs to listening comprehension.It focuses on the use of songs and recorded texts asan instrument to teach listening comprehension. This study tries to see whether using songs as aninstrument can help to improve students' listening comprehension. The participants were 116 GeneralEnglish students selected based on their SPM English paper results. These students were dividedinto two groups. Students from both groups were taught listening comprehension by using the twoinstruments respectively. Data collected revealed that the students had higher scores in thelistening to song activity as compared to listening to recorded text activity. This indicated thatstudents acquired more listening comprehension skills through exposure to songs. Thus it isrecommended that various genres of songs be used during the English lesson to make it moreinteresting and to achieve better proficiency among the students...

An exploration of pedagogical research methods in traditional chinese thought the study of Lao-Zhuang philosophy as the core of discussion

Abstract

This study takes “Lao Zhuang’s Philosophy of Education” as the core of discussion, and tries to analyze the pedagogical research methodology of traditional Chinese thought, as well as to clarify the boundaries between the “study of history of education” and the “study of philosophy of education” in the study of traditional Chinese thought in education. It is found that there are two types of Lao-Zhuang's research results related to the theme of education research. First, the research on Lao-Zhuang’s thought is conducted with the concepts related to pedagogy as the main vein and analytical framework, which has the advantage of highlighting the value and characteristics of education, but the disadvantage is that this kind of research does not necessarily present the completeness of the traditional thought. Kajian ini merupakan satu kajian pemerolehan bahasa pertama bagi kanak-kanak prasekolah khususnya daripada aspek sintaksis di sekolah Tadika Kemas di Sabak Bernam, Selangor.Kajian ini mempunyai tiga objektif utama. Objektif pertama ialah untuk melihat pemerolehan sintaksis di kalangan kanak-kanak prasekolah dari segi kebolehan menghasilkan jenis ayat bahasa Melayu iaitu Ayat Penyata, Ayat Tanya, Ayat Seruan dan Ayat Perintah. Objektif kedua, untuk melihat binaan ayat yang digunakan oleh kanak-kanak prasekolah, dan objektif ketiga, untuk mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemerolehan sintaksis di kalangan kanak-kanak prasekolah. Analisis kesilapan dan kesantunan surat kiriman rasmi tulisan pelajar tingkatan 4

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji kesilapan dan kesantunan bahasa surat kiriman rasmi tulisan pelajar.Responden kajian ini terdiri daripada pelajar tingkatan 4 di Sekolah Menengah KebangsaanGedangsa, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor Darul Ehsan. Sebanyak 30 responden Melayu yang terdiridaripada 15 pelajar lelaki dan 15 pelajar perempuan dipilih secara rawak. Alat kajian berupa suratkiriman rasmi tulisan pelajar dan pemerhatian. Aspek yang dikaji meliputi dua komponen utama iaitukesilapan dan kesantunan bahasa dalam surat kiriman pelajar jenis surat aduan. Dapatan kajiandianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan peratusan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kecenderungankesilapan yang tinggi dilakukan oleh pelajar dalam aspek mekanis iaitu 58.7% berbanding kesilapankosa kata iaitu 2.6% dalam surat kiriman yang ditulis. Abstract

Tujuan utama penyelidikan ini adalah untuk mengkaji perubahan persepsi prapos pelajar terhadap proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran subjek Lakaran Asas secara konvensional dan setelah diintegrasikan dengan Pembelajaran Berbantukan Komputer (PBK) dalam kalangan pelajar Tahun Dua di Fakulti Seni dan Muzik (FSM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Kaedah yang digunakan dalam kajian ini berbentuk eksperimen rawak pra-pasca ujian satu kumpulan yang melibatkan 35 sampel. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan soal selidik dan soalan kuiz. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 11 dan Excel. Penyelidik menggunakan kaedah statistik inferens (ANOVA dan ujian-t) dan statistik deskriptif (frekuensi, peratusan dan min).Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pencapaian akademik pelajar adalah lebih tinggi dan signifikan berbanding dengan prestasi mereka sebelum menjalani sesi rawatan. 'Nilai Estetika pada Motif Batik Tradisional Kelantan' mengupas apakah motif-motif pada batik tradisional Kelantan, mengetahui nilai-nilai estetika di sebalik motif batik tradisional Kelantan dan hubungan masyarakat Melayu dengan motif-motif batik tradisional Kelantan.Terdapat beberapa kaedah yang digunakan oleh pengkaji dalam kajian ini seperti kaedah pemerhatian, kaedah kajian pustaka dan kaedah triangulasi data. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in early 2020, there have been many false negative information in the society, and the public's anxiety and irritability have been amplified. In this situation, constructive news originating from the European and American news industry has become the focus of attention for some media or scholars. It aims to awaken the public's willingness to take action through inspiring news reports, thereby promoting social stability and development. However, the specific practice of constructive news will present different characteristics in different social environments.
