| 2024 Article | Effectiveness of basic arithmetic skills module among pupils with dyscalculia symptoms Ardzulyna Anal Mathematics is fundamental in the educational system, yet many pupils lack the required skills in the subject. Intervention is crucial for pupils with dyscalculia symptoms. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Basic Arithmetic Skills (BAS) Module among pupils with dyscalculia symptoms. This is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. One hundred twenty pupils aged between 7 and 14 years, who exhibited dyscalculia symptoms were involved in this study. They were divided into two (2) groups: the control group with 59 pupils and the treatment group with 61 pupils. The results showed that the BAS Module significantly improved the basic arithmetic skills among pupils with dyscalculia symptoms regardless of gender and age. In conclusion, the BAS Module effectively improved the basic arithmetic skills among pupils with dyscalculia symptoms in primary schools. The study emphasizes the importance of tailored instructional materials and the role of teachers in delivering in..... 43 hits |
| 2024 Article | Development of a catch-throwing skill analyzer based on sensors Jaffry Zakaria This research aims to develop a tool for measuring catching-throwing skills using modern, effective, and efficient sensor technology. This research involved three experts in their field: an electrical expert, an evaluation and measurement expert, and a physicist. A total of 30 participants participated in testing in a small group of 12 people and a large group of 18 people with an age range of 15-20 years. Testing is carried out with questionnaires and direct tests. The statistical analysis used is r-correlation with the help of the SPSS application. The test results show a high alpha coefficient, confirming that this tool is consistent and reliable in collecting data. Three experts carried out practicality testing: Electrical Experts, Evaluation and Measurement Experts, and Physicists. The results show that this tool is efficient, with practicality levels of 98%, 92%, and 8..... 27 hits |
| 2024 Article | Extraction of gold from gravity-flotation concentrates via surfactant and oxidation reagents Muhammad Noorazlan Abd Azis The focus of this work is to establish a hydrometallurgical technique for efficiently extracting gold from the aggregated gold-rich concentrate produced by a mining facility in one of Kazakhstan's deposits. The leaching techniques applied to gravity-flotation concentrates include hydrometallurgical gold recovery processes using the surfactant sulfanol and the oxidizing reagent trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA). The findings indicate the effectiveness of leaching gravity-flotation concentrates with oxidizing (accelerating) reagents. Gold extraction through cyanidation of the blended concentrate, ground to 89–90% passing 10 µm with TCCA, averaged 84.0%, compared to 65.76–67.8% with conventional direct cyanidation. The advantage of employing chlorine-based oxidants, such as TCCA, in hydrometallurgical processing lies in their applicability in both acidic and alkaline environments, whereas other oxidants are constrained by specific technological conditions. Technical trichloroisocyanu..... 29 hits |
| 2024 Article | Antibacterial properties of cassava starch/xanthan gum/zinc oxide nanoparticles coating solution and physicochemical analysis of coated banana (Musa acuminata) for shelf-life extension Suriani Abu Bakar Bananas serve as a nutrient-rich energy source for human diets, and a valuable raw material for downstream products. Despite the high demand for bananas, they have a relatively short shelf-life. To mitigate these shortcomings, researchers have explored the use of edible coatings to extend the shelf-life of bananas. Nevertheless, only a few studies have assessed the integration of starch, gum, and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) in developing a coating solution that can preserve the qualities of bananas post-harvest. Therefore, the present work assessed the antibacterial properties of a novel edible coating formulation combining cassava starch, xanthan gum, and ZnONPs, and its impact on the physicochemical characteristics and shelf-life of bananas of the ‘Pisang Berangan’ variety (Musa acuminata). Firstly, coating solutions with compositions of cassava starch, xanthan gum, and varying concentrations of ZnONPs were prepared. Their antibacterial properties were then assessed using t..... 30 hits |
| 2024 Article | Mitigating plagiarism in ESL academic writing: Evaluating the efficacy of educational intervention Mohd Haniff Mohd Tahir Background: Plagiarism is a serious academic misconduct demanding mitigation to uphold the integrity of original work. Undeniably, with the advancement of technological age, plagiarising becomes easier and harder to detect. However, the reliance on technology significantly rises the likelihood of fostering academic dishonesty among the students. Therefore, it is imperative to disseminate explicit education on plagiarism reduction strategies, particularly on the importance of mastering correct referencing techniques. Purpose: The present study applied a mixed-method approach to explore the effectiveness of an intervention called Educational Intervention (EI) on enhancing ESL students’ academic referencing skills namely in in-text citation abilities, paraphrasing skills and writing reference list using APA style. Method: The EI consisted of explicit instruction that involved structured teaching sessions integrated with two primary instructional strategies: lectures and practical exerci..... 64 hits |

| 2024 Article | Enhancing educational ecosystems: Implementing peter senge's learning organization model in Islamic boarding schools Miftachul Huda The inability of pesantren in the 21st-century era of knowledge and technology to maintain its classical madrasah system raises significant questions. Therefore, understanding how Madrasah Hidayatul Mubtadiin (MHM) in Lirboyo, Kediri City, as one of the Salafiyah Islamic Boarding Schools, adapts to its environment through the implementation of Peter Senge's five learning organization (LO) disciplines is crucial. This research adopts a qualitative approach, employing a case study methodology. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of LO at MHM Lirboyo Madrasah aligns well with the five disciplines of a learning organization. These include: 1) Personal mastery among teachers is demonstrated through self-reflection, exemplary behavior, diligence, and consistency in adhering to institutional rules. 2) Mental models cultivated through tolerant behavior, respect, awareness of the importance of learning, high motiv..... 36 hits |
| 2024 Article | Recyclable and reusable catalyst of chitosan-modified mgal-layered double hydroxide for biodiesel production Azlan Kamari Study of chitosan modification to MgAl-LDH to increase surface basicity for improving biodiesel production from palm oil has been performed. Modification was conducted by chitosan gel impregnation onto prepared MgAl-LDH. Furthermore, the physicochemical character of material was evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, gas sorption analysis, and determination of solid basicity. The XRD, specific surface area, pore distribution, and TEM analyses confirmed the reduced specific surface area due to the exfoliated LDH conformation. However, the increased surface basicity aroused from the modification leads to improved catalytic activity and yield. The maximum biodiesel yield of 92.8 % was achieved by the methanol to oil ratio of 10:1 at 90 °C for 2 h. The prominent reusability until the 5th cycle of usage without significant activity change is a potency for advocating the suitability of the low-cost catalysis technology for comme..... 38 hits |
