participation among TESL (Teaching of English as a Second Language) students in EAP (English forÂ
Academic Purposes) classrooms. Adopting a multiphase mixed- method research design, this study wasÂ
implemented in four phases: (I) identification of reticent students, (II) needs assessment, (III)Â
remedial course development, and (IV) course implementation and evaluation. Data were collectedÂ
through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions and classroomÂ
observations. 9 EAP instructors and 144 TESL students from a university involved in Phase I andÂ

Kajian ini juga mengenal pasti kesan modul K5FN terhadap pencapaian akademik, sikap saintifik dan minat pelajar. Selain itu, kajian juga meneliti persepsi pelajar tentang modul K5FN sebagai sebuah bahan bantu mengajar. Modul K5FN dibina berdasarkan gabungan model instruksional Rowntree-Tessmer. Kesan modul ini diuji menerusi kajian eksperimen kuasi. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada ujian pra dan pasca, soal selidik sikap saintifik, minat, persepsi dan satu protokol temu bual. Specifically, the study sought to determine if ‘happy’ emotion induced by background music, colorful materials or a combination of the two could improve the performance of grade 1 Filipino pupils in addition and subtraction. Teaching aids were developed utilizing ‘happy’ emotion through Filipino children’s music as background, colorful materials or a combination of the two. A quasi-experiment was conducted with 4 groups (music group, n=83; color group, n=80; combination of music & color group, n=87 and control group, n=70) from two schools in Manila. Development of the Kwartalino Financial Education Program involved adaptation of the ADDIE model. Purposive sampling was used in the first phase of the program development and consisted of six kindergarten teachers and five experts. Interview with teachers revealed essential components of the program like appropriate learning activities, relevant instructional materials, and active parent involvement.
