Text analytics: "Graphic visualization in education and a scientometric analysis using r tool to explore the impact and trends in classroom learning."

Text analytics can be applied in education to gain insights into student learning, teacher performance, and educational trends by analysing various forms of text-based data such as student essays, social media posts, and educational resources. While the need for teacher preparation and training is identified, specific solutions or effective strategies for equipping educators with the skills and knowledge to integrate graphic visualizations into their teaching practices might be underexplored. This Scientometrics study used PRISMA approach (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) Using R tool. Scopus databases that were relevant to the research topic, and its standardized procedures ensured comprehensiveness and replicability. The study found 85 articles using the PRISMA approach from the Scopus database, with 98.82% being articles and 1.18% from conference proceedings. Effect of scaling racquet using a body-scaling approach on badminton match performance

This research aimed to determine the ideal racquet size by modifying racquets based on a body-scaling approach employing arm-to-racquet length ratios. Twelve boys aged between 13 to 14 years (13.17±0.83) with one to two years of badminton experience volunteered to participate in the study. To calculate arm-to-racquet length ratios, participants' arm lengths for both hands were recorded. Participants were divided into six pairs and played a badminton match using three types of racquets which were racquets A (1.1:1.0), B (1.0:1.0), and C (0.9:1.0). Participants' hitting opportunities, successful strokes, winning strokes, rally length, and unforced errors were notated manually via video replay. Based on the one-way ANOVA with repeated measures, the results showed that the use of racquet B which had a pi ratio of 1.0:1.0 for arm length-to-racquet length ratios during badminton matches, recorded the highest mean scores in hitting opportunities, successful strokes, and winning strokes than .....

Pretend play of young children in the Malaysian context

Pretend play is one of the most beneficial and complex forms of play that promotes a myriad of children’s development. Children’s engagement in pretend play can be influenced by their genders, age, material or toys available, and adults’ support. Pretend play has been long studied globally, however, there is still a dearth of available information about it in the Malaysian context. This study explored 85 young children’s engagement in pretend play at home from the perspectives of parents, the differences in engagement based on children’s age and gender; and the perceived benefits of pretend play for young children. Children mostly engage in pretend play at home alone, with siblings and their parents. Children as young as 2 years old engaged in from the simplest to the complex form of pretend play. This paper combines the teaching of a 3D animation course with the blended teaching mode and constructs a framework for the design of 3D animation blended teaching reform. Based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm, we adopt qualitative and quantitative methods to determine the evaluation index system of teaching reform, divide the course teaching objectives, teaching content, learning resources, online learning and teaching design and classroom organization into five first-level indexes, establish the weights of the evaluation index system, and complete the construction of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation system of 3D animation blended teaching. Oil rent, corruption and economic growth relationship in Nigeria: Evidence from various estimation techniques

Purpose: Despite the huge financial resources associated with oil, Nigeria has consistently recorded poor growth performance. Therefore, this study aims to examine how corruption and oil rent influence Nigeria’s economic performance during the 1996–2021 period. Design/methodology/approach: Various estimation techniques were used. These include the bootstrap autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds-testing, dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS), the fully modified OLS (FMOLS) and the canonical cointegration regression (CCR) estimators and the Toda–Yamamoto causality. Findings: The bounds testing results provide evidence of a cointegrating relationship between the variables. In addition, the results of the ARDL, DOLS, CCR and FMOLS estimators demonstrate that oil rent and corruption have a significant positive impact on growth. Of course, the goal of investigating what variables affect people’s willingness to embrace new technologies is to better adopt such technologies. The present study will thus look at the elements that have an impact on Chinese EFL college students’ adoption and usage of mobile technology-integrated vocabulary acquisition as a means to promote more learner-centric education. Design and dvelopment of e-MARZ: A practical guide to implementing cost-effective VR experiences for music education

The study introduces e-MARZ, a Virtual Reality (VR) software designed to tackle challenges faced by music educators in enhancing music appreciation lessons within the Malaysian lower secondary school music curriculum. The research aims to improve student engagement, provide immersive and interactive learning experiences, and develop a user-friendly VR application. A video production process was employed to create 360-degree music performance videos, which were integrated into the e-MARZ software via interactive modules. The high availability of technology-related jobs is currently not fulfilled by enough supply of technology graduates, specifically the ones coming from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses. This is related to the low enrolment rate of STEM-based courses at Universities. The notion that STEM subjects are intense and difficult to pass could be the reason of such phenomena. This research experimented different lecture delivery methods comprising of different seating arrangements, inclusion or exclusion of break, group size, and room size to investigate the generated levels of stress among STEM students, so that the method that would induce minimum stress could be discovered. Assessing Malaysia’s internet of things (IoT) readiness based on CREATE-IoT key performance indicators

The current nationwide deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) in Malaysia has never been assessed nor benchmarked against any Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A proven IoT assessment standard called CREATE-IoT has successfully driven IoT projects in European countries, and it is hence used as a benchmarking tool in this research. The assessment that includes both technical and business perspectives concludes that 42 out of 50 KPIs (84%) in Malaysia are in the advanced state. Malaysia is thus rated as an IoT-ready country. However, rooms for improvement exist in the scopes of providing expected duration for completing an IoT service transaction to predict the level of customer satisfaction when using the service – and the ability to produce IoT sensors and devices locally to have sustainable, scalable, and economical continuous IoT deployments. © 2024, Semarak Ilmu Publishing.
